This is the official release from the US Mission in SA dated June 18th.

They explicitly state they will do H2A visas, but make no mention of us. Everyone is better off just applying for an emergency expedite if I am to believe the advice they gave on their FB page or we may never get an interview. What is wrong with them?

I think what upset me most with that press release is that they'll process athletes and their families but no mention of spouses for USC I think expediting is probably the best option.

HI,

Not sure if this is the correct thread to post on. I have received my NOA on the December the 16th 2019 and still have not yet received anything back. We are using immigration lawyers in Durham USA and its very frustrating to not have heard anything back. Does anyone have advise on what I can do to speed this process up.

Hi Jade! Unfortunately, USCIS is not very transparent about their operations. The current estimate for their review of your petition is between 7-9 months from your Priority Date. You can try to apply for an expedite, but unless the reason is quite serious the USCIS is unlikely to grant it.

They stopped when lockdown started (27 March). Borders are not open and no definitely date when that will happen. Those with a spouse visa though are allowed on repatriation flights. It's just getting an interview once DQ at NVC. Johannsburg hasn't given any indication when they'll start spouse interviews though, but they are mission critical so nothing stopping them from processing a CR1 / IR1 visa

I did thank you so much. I was unsure how this site is working but hoping to get the hang of it.

Hello all Happy 4th ,

I’m glad joined this group, my case is in NVC waiting interviews appointment, anyone know what month last interviewed in Johannesburg ( on what month they stop interviewing ) my doc completed on June 20. SA border still closed, when will they reopen?, Thank you

I think the best option will be to give them a call but yes I also heard spousal visa will be allowed on repatriation flights so hopefully things can speed up pretty soon with these borders not being open.

Any one here Doc completed in February at NVC  waiting interviews date ?

A few of us have been DQd during lockdown and waiting for interviews. Not all are from Feb though. For myself I was DQ 2 May.

So I have asked our lawyers to see if we qualify for an expedite, has anyone done this yet and have you been approved?

Unfortunately expedites are not easy. They only expedite if USCIS made an error, humanitarian reasons, severe financial loss or compelling U.S. government interests. Do any of those apply to your case?

I've seen people request expedites in really bad circumstances and still get denied.

Oh goodness, well it was worth a try. I was hoping that I fall under the severe financial loss due to Covid but if they still get denied in really bad circumstances then maybe this wont apply to me🙈 im just getting really frustrated as I have not seen my husband in about 11 months. This process is really taking a huge toll on me but it was worth seeking all the options.

That sounds exciting! Where did you get this news? Do you have any links for the information?
