Hi Mimi! No, we haven't done the medical yet. Our medical appointment is on Thursday morning. Have you still not heard anything back from the consulate? 🤔

Medical went well! We received our interview date today. Our interview is on September 16th.

They just emailed us and had our date in the body of the email.

Do you know  How they deliver passport to you ? did you register online for delivery or they ask your preferable address for passport delivery on interview?

We registered the appointment online through their registry system. We were able to select the DHL down the street from where my husband is staying as the pickup location for his passport.

One of the simplest interviews I've done 😁 there was only one  other people with me, , I waited maybe 30 minutes, had my interview and was approved 🤗 

 

Everyone was very friendly and helpful, this is one part of the process you don't need to stress about.

I've been settling in nicely, loving the South so far! And just so awesome to be back with hubby again. Flight was smooth and less of a stress than I thought it would be. Came through Washington DC and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Arrived last Tuesday, so been here a little over a week now.

We arrived here in New York yesterday afternoon! Everything went well, just a lot of waiting around. We flew into JHB on the day and was met at domestic arrivals by the Emirates reps. They told us to hang around in the airport. After a few hours they made us put our suitcases outside in the road for the dogs to check the luggage. Once that is done you’re taken through to the check in counter and then through to the international section. There is a restaurant that is open on that side with drinks and a few basics things to eat. 

Dubai airport was pretty busy with a few shops and restaurants open. 
 

Once I got to the US I was taken to a room to process some documentation. Took about 10 min. I was asked to confirm our address and phone numbers and that was it! All done!

Consul Generals don't actually work the desks in the visa section. . . They are about 5 levels higher.
