From what I understand, you email and get an auto reply, apparently that auto-reply is what you print and take with you. I happen to send an enquiry to that email and got the auto-response within minutes. I did it again from a second email address with the details the template suggests and got the same auto-reply within minutes again. So I'm guessing its that auto-reply. It does say in the auto-reply to print it and my application (original email I'm guessing) so I think it might just be a very simple thing, but maybe a bit too simple and that's possibly whats confusing 😵

We just booked and paid this morning! Flying out on the 8th of September. JHB to Dubai and then Dubai to JFK!

Our medical is next week on Sep 3rd. 💃🕺

@April M This document is only for leaving South Africa. LISA was a group created in SA to pressure the government into releasing its citizens to travel to other countries for employment and family reunification. The forum is on FB, you can try to find it if you want, but it doesn't apply to your situation atm since your husband is in Uganda.

Oh...I understand. I am interested in info. I will go look it up and see what it is all about. Sometimes I hear things , read on it and then might be able to pass it on to others it could help. 

 

The Embassy in Kenya keep emailing us, saying it is mission critical, they have everything and they are getting to it but we are still waiting. Thanks for asking.

When they email you for medical ?

They emailed us mid-day on Thursday, August 27. I would try emailing them again and reminding them that you have completed your medical.

The formal name for the group is Locked In South Africa (LISA). I'm sorry you guys are still stuck in AP, it seems to be the case for many of the cases I have seen in Africa. I know of a couple where the beneficiary is from Nigeria and they have been in AP for five or six months. They will qualify for their IR1 soon. She said if they haven't heard anything by next month that they are going to file a mandamus case in the US to force them to issue a decision. Keep us posted about your case!

@IsItLekker congratulations 🥳 you guys are moving quickly now! A few weeks and you'll be all done.

 

Side note had my covid test yesterday for my Emirates flight Monday - its weird and ticklish, but no where near as awful as I imagined it to be haha. You do need a Dr. referral though the labs don't just test you.

I have a immigration liaison trying to move it along as well but they are still emailing delays. It is very frustrating for sure and should not be allowed to happen. These are people's lives they are putting on hold. Trust me we have not been on hold. We have made many plans and worked hard to make a life as a couple despite being separated . It's like one of us is in the military really, this is what military people put up with. We have been putting those principles of relationship at work here too. Even though we are apart we do what we can to have a solid relationship.

Lucky! I had to do a COVID test for my job so I could go back to work and it was extremely unpleasant. Felt like he was trying to lobotomize me. 😅
