My story with the Casablanca embassy

My story with the Casablanca embassy:  I met my wife in 2016. After about four months of talking to each other by video call every night, and getting to know each other, she came to visit me in Morocco. We had already talked about marriage. I proposed to her three days after she arrived here in Morocco because that was Valentine's Day 2017 and I wanred it to be that day.
The consular officer was surprised by that and said "you really proposed to her three days after meeting her?"  I said yes and explained everything to him. My visa was refused (December 26, 2017), yet I was never given a reason why.

I'm going to assume it was a K-1 visa (I-129F petition) based on the timeline (meeting in 2017 and getting an interview also in 2017...this is unlikely for a spousal visa).

A returned petition would only be due to them believing it was invalid. For an I-129F, this would generally be not being legally free to marry, some sort of petition issue (i.e. an undisclosed criminal history), an IMBRA issue, or - most likely - not a bona fide relationship.

Given the circumstances noted, it was likely the last one.
For Morocco, one visit and a proposal on that visit is a major red flag.

Your post history indicates that you have since married, met a few more times, and are working towards a spousal visa now. The circumstances now are more favorable (the face time is the big one).

Good luck.

Casa denies most K1's

Since it is a high fraud country and there are unforunately many there who green card shoppers which affects all of us, so they look closely at the following

1.   time you knew before the Morocco invited the USC to visit (in your case only 4 months)

2.   a quick proposal (either online before meeting or soon after meeting when you did not have a lot of time spent together)  in your case only 3 days after meeting in person

3.   to follow up on that the amount of time spent together before the actual interview ( i did 5 trips of 1 to 3 months with a total of 7 months)

4.   different religions although a muslim man can marry muslim,  christain, jewish girl

5.   a big age difference of 10 years or over

6.   and even before the new forms to prove the USC could afford health care for the bene,  Casa looked at it because it could be an issue under totality of circumstances so the income of petitioner was imporant

and as to why you are refused,  you will never know,

we were denied in 2009 and i wrote and said i wanted to know as i had met in person through his family at a dinner,  talked 9 months yahoo after and then spent month of June with him and his family/ still waiting to know/ Casa does not give this info in writing like other embassies

but in your case face time together and quick to ask to marry are the reasons / almost guaranteed

for your CR1 interview,  they will now look at how much face time you have spent since meeting and all those other issues like ages plus the Moroccans personal social media to ensure he is not talking to many other women with promise of a life together (that is visa shopping even if in another country)

allah yekbel
