Precisely what I mean when we talk about gaslighting.

 

The media happily reported about the spying only to, days later, have them and the left tell people that what happened, what the media gloated about, that we know happened endlessly, was a myth. How do they lie to your face like that? Easy. It's an abracadabra, a way of distracting people they engage with/the public to get caught up in pointlessly trying to prove that it happened. The retorts you see, from playing dumb, to changing the subject, invoking identity, throwing tantrums, aren't done out of stupidity, but the tactic of running interference for those who've seriously harmed Trump/his campaign/the Republic/people they disagree with. This, in the end, prevents the resolution of this issue, prevents people in the political opposition from keeping focus on what advancement on the subject is, so they get satisfied with pointless hollow "ownings" and declarations of investigations than actually sticking these pos behind bars. This is where focus and strong adherence to underlying principles is very necessary. 

 

In my second degree program we really went over the psychological implements used not just in the for-profit market but in nonprofits, social movements, etc. People really need to understand how deeply involved in psychological manipulation leaders of these movements are. Shortly after I made this account I posted videos of "century of the self", this is a very good starting point. The dog whistles begin with movements of these leaders, who spend a lot of time understanding the people they want to galvanize, people they want to demoralize, and those dog whistles that wind up being calls to action, left understand this, take up the cause. They quickly understand the tactics promoted and how they work. The rest of the populace stupidly engage them as if they're simply dumb or with genuine intent just gone astray. This disarms people psychologically so they can't respond quickly to situations like what's just happened.
