How much time is it taking to get SSN these days. My parents entered in US via SFO on June 3rd, and social security office still does not show any record of them in their database.

My parents checked to get SSN on the DS-230 form.

Hoe much time is DHS taking for clearance etcc?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

We went to the social security office about two weeks after Claudeth arrived in the U.S. and the card arrived about a week later. When she changed her name it took about six weeks to get a new card.

They should be able to apply for a SSN at your local office, just take their passports with the I-551 stamp in it and fill out the form and they should get one in a few weeks....

Kez

Their SSN was already applied as they checked the box on DS230 that says if a SSN should be issued for you. In that case does it makes sense to apply for it one more time?

Many people who tick the box on the DS230 never get the SSN.... the only way to make sure you get it is to go to the SSA and apply in person with your passport showing your I-551 stamp or wait for the greencard to arrive and then go to the SSA...

the paper my husband received said 3 weeks. Many people who check the box do recieve the Soc Card and Green Card in about 3 to 4 weeks.
