Because bending the knee and being quiet is the norm, you should be taking notes on who are actually taking a stand against this. When I say taking a stand, I mean actually protecting the monuments, not owning the libs on Twitter.

As much as we may dislike the confederate people, and while I personally never liked statues at all (to me its deifying people, and it took me a long time to get over my personal animus toward statues and monuments) there was never any harm in those statues. They serve to remind us of what we have been through, achieved, and overcome. Naturally, removing those statues, burning books, and so on, the left will try to attempt to rewrite history for the next generations, because too many of today's Americans still have some semblance of history that hasn't yet been completely rewritten. Many of these confederate people, while slave owners and those who, when we think about today, we'd not think of as good people, were comprehensively considered good people back then, and most didn't just serve the Confederacy. Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, Joseph Wheeler, to name a few, served the US, they served locally, and the people where their statues were erected genuinely respected them. The things we felt they did wrong in their times aren't promoted because their statues are present.

Just like when you marry someone, you don't only marry their good traits. You marry their bad ones too. You assume they were honest with you about the bad ones, some hopefully minor ones that were forgotten/omitted (since people aren't perfect) you find out as time goes on, but unequivocally the good far outweighs the bad. If they try and conceal the bad things, it doesn't make them a better person. They've just tried to revise history, and it's usually an escape from trying to learn from it. Concealing, trashing, burning, and covering things up does not lead to better decision making, it justifies making (and especially repeating) the worst decisions. It's clearly preferential for those who have harmful intentions, rather than constructive ones.

The last few paragraphs of course are addressing honest questions or musing about whether or not they should stay. There's no confusing the identity/woke and militant attempts to trash these things as a protest or invoking conversation, or anything to do with history, it's nothing more than rampant destruction and its aim is to bully, intimidate, and scare people into social and political compliance (also known as terrorism), not to make people less racist. At this point, I'd be okay with a local armed militia protecting monuments, with deadly force if necessary, if the government won't. Naive people thinking that elections will save them from this are sorely mistaken. If they gladly ignore laws, attack freedoms, trash historical monuments, burn/loot/raze, why would they even think twice about committing election fraud? And if Trump wins, why would they care? They get a lot done in just a matter of days of tearing stuff apart. More bent knees than Trump could ever hope for.

That would be a way a team from there could win

Full disclosure, I absolutely detest that team that wears yellow and blue, I bleed Green and White, so my vote would be to choose South Lansing as the new name.  😂
