hi folks.

so, not being so much the 'forward thinker', as i said, i threw out most receipts of money spent in brasil when i was with bruno...atm receipts, restaurants, hotel, plane ticket etc. i figure i can take care of that by submitting credit card receipts which will have the name and location of all purchases.

however...what about boarding passes. i definitley didn't keep all of those either (although kept some). i do however have email confirmation of ticket purchases. i know that doesnt show that i actually got ON the plane...is there any other way of requesting proof from the airline that I did in fact board and make the flight, after the fact?

thanks.....again...

sheepishly,

tm

If you have even one boarding pass, that's great. And best of all - I presume you have a passport, right? That's the best evidence of all - get a copy of the page with the relevant stamps on it. You can use your other half's as well if there is similar travel shown.

You can back it up with some copies of itineraries, but on their own, as you say, they wouldn't prove you boarded the flight.

Some here have mentioned contacting the airline for copies of proof of travel - I don't know much about that though.

Stick with your passports, use the photos and receipts as well, and you should be in good shape. Quality is far better than quantity.

p.s. are you like me and too lazy to remove luggage tags between flights? I tend to save mine because I'm a packrat too - one gets ripped off at the airport and stuffed into the bag in preparation for the next to get stuck on. Those luggage tags will show origin and destination as well as your name. You can photocopy that as well and use it with the rest of your evidence.

what i did was highlight the stamps and the dates of the passport stamps

then i printed off my email confirmation of my flights

and hightlighted the dates on those as i also lost my boarding pass

I also highlighted the calls I made to Brazil on my phone bill, important dates on the itinerary and flight coupons...along with important information in the e-mails.
