Greetings all,

I'm in the process of moving to the US from Canada (spousal visa, waiting in Canada for completion) On June 1st I received my DQ email from NVC and am to date waiting for my interview to be scheduled in Montreal. My lawyer said that typical wait times are between 3-6 months for an interview. Understandably things are not at all typical, though with so many other Visa's being postponed, I am hopeful that helps in my case.

How are others faring with wait times? Are there people currently with interviews scheduled for future Montreal dates? I haven't seen my husband since the end of February, it's getting harder as time goes on. I was advised that at this stage of my process that I cannot enter the US as I would be a flight risk. I know my husband could come to Canada (as of June 8th) but the mandatory 15 day stay, plus a quarantine on his return to the US, isn't a possibility for him with his job.

I'm curious to hear if others, especially Canadians, have seen progress with their I-130's during COVID19. Thanks in advance for any input :)

I got DQ on Jan 15th & still waiting for an interview date 😓 I’ve killed time by flying to see my husband twice during the Canada / US border closure tho so I’m grateful for that...

You've been able to cross the border after receiving DQ? My understanding was that I would be considered a flight risk, my lawyer told me not to. The email sent from NVC said not to make any travel plans. But you've been crossing? This gives me hope, I haven't seen my husband in over 4 months!

Really? My lawyer never said anything about not being able to travel; I’ve been crossing almost weekly since my DQ. Check out other threads - many other spouses have flown to the US. Hopefully you can see your husband soon 🙌🏽

I got my DQ on June 18th so we will likely have the sameish timing when it comes to interview dates. I too have hope that maybe with the delay on all the other visas will help move ours along, but the reality is that people who were DQed in October had their March and April interviews cancelled, so we are looking at a fairly long wait. I intend on travelling to the US at the end of July to visit my husband and based on other peoples' experiences, I hope it goes well and they let me in.

I'm sorry that you've been separated so long, that cannot be easy.

Also, here's a link to a thread I've been following on the topic of flying to the US from Canada .
