I petitioned for my stepchildren (2boys) last may 2019 after they lost their mother.  My husband has become a citizen since then 1/2020 and their case is currently at the NVC in Santo Domingo DR.  Everything is approved but we are awaiting our interview.  Does anyone know if they are scheduling appointments soon considering changes during COVID? Or are things gonna be on hold the rest of the year?? TIA

Husband now USC Jan 2020!

Born in DR

K1 Visa in 2016

2 babies together

Petitioned 130 for my stepsons (as USC at that time March 2019)

Petitioned 130 for mother in law (husband petitioned April 2020 - after he became citizen)

Unfortunately the NVC is not sending petitions to embassies at this time. It is unknown when the embassy in DR will open up. What is the visa category he filed?

It was an I-130 period for alien relative.  I petitioned for then last year since I was the citizen in order for it to move along faster.  Well here we are a year and so later and still in limbo, corona is holding things back by a few months now

The case is at the NVC in Santo Domingo DR, all documents approved, awaiting interview date so we can get medical exams done and proceed from there 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’m wondering the same thing - we are in a similar situation. My stepdaughter’s petition was approved at the NVC in mid-March right before everything shut down. I don’t think her case was sent to the embassy in SD after that, but it’s hard to say without any information. Waiting for her to come has been hard, but I don’t want her to come here into an unsafe or chaotic situation, so that helps me be patient.

Thank you! I am actually currently trying to figure out the best way to word and prove the urgency of our case based on the grounds of humanitarian crisis. I have the mothers death certificate that was submitted with their original application.  I don't know what else to use to prove the urgency.. any thought or ideas would be much appreciated!
