June 1st DQ... still nothing.

I emailed the embassy a couple days ago enquiring if they had any idea if they knew when they would start accepting cases from NVC and also referenced the ‘mission critical’ part on both the DoS websites and their website. I received a response back about 30 minutes later... a copy paste of their FAQ information page.

Nothing more to do but wait...

The generic answers given by the embassy are almost like a slap in the face.

I would just like to know if CR1 interviews are even being scheduled, to give some sort of hope.

Right now it seems that nothing is happening and we are all stuck until God knows when...

April 21st and still nothing here :( I am really starting to consider trying for an expedite on mental health grounds.

If nobody else reports any movement during July and maybe August, I will seriously start considering those options too. Your DQ date is a whole month before ours, so it's really disheartening to think that all of our files are just sitting there for no good reason. I get there is going to be a backlog, but we know the embassy is open because other expedited interviews have already occurred.

Agree here, really don't see the point of NVC holding onto the applications when we know the embassy is at least open in some capacity.  At least start booking some interviews in all the slots they have vacated by cancelling the K1s, all I want is some date.  The worst part of it all is months and months with very little update, they could at least give us a sign, any sort of sign.  The UK government are even opening gyms up from next week but we still wait for the embassy....

The embassy are not interested in your case if it's still at NVC

I got an expedite and it's currently on the way to London. Will be contacting them once they receive and will update on here.

Bit insensitive there...

We, among others here, have been DQ’d and obviously cannot control that the NVC is not forwarding our cases to be scheduled for an interview. It’s not unreasonable to ask for transparency.

Not really, maybe you're overly sensitive.

I'm just being straight to the point, just like you wish the information from the embassy was. It wasn't my intention to hurt your feelings, I don't know you and I don't have an agenda.

I have been stuck at the NVC for nearly as long as you've been married, it sucks. But we're in the same boat.

It’s a difficult situation for everyone, so in my opinion it’s best to show compassion. Obviously we come to this group for support and reassurance, not to be swatted down in the same manner as the embassy. Sure, honesty is great, but so is kindness.

As for your wait, I get it. It sucks. The one person in the world that you want to be with is miles away, add in the pandemic, and it makes it 10x’s worse.

But you’re right. You don’t know me. You may see what’s on my timeline, but you know nothing of the extent of any of it. And the same goes for me. But spouting off that you’ve been waiting as long as I’ve been married isn’t helpful for anyone.

Okay. Best of luck

Thing is if you have been DQ then there is no reason for it to be still at NVC, all they do is book the appointment from that stage IIRC.  This is the big problem at the moment, most of the other parts of the process are running along fairly smoothly and quickly but not the interviews so you have the situation with all these people in limbo with the NVC holding onto the paperwork and not sending it to the embassy even though they have some capacity to do interviews (they are currently doing some) and we are apparently in the 'mission critical' category...just not that critical obviously.

I agree, there should be some movement. Maybe there are some people gettting sent to London that have been DQed, not everyone applying has a Visa Journey profile.

The whole immigration situation is a mess, and I imagine the generic responses from the Embassy are because they actually don’t really know whats going on themselves. My hunch was we would see some movement, or a sign things were changing this week, but alas, nothing.

Unfortunately, I think it’s looking more than likely that NVC will not schedule any appointments till the embassy resumes ‘routine services.  The mission critical aspect of immediate family members doesn’t seem to carry much weight, In my opinion.

So far the only evidence I have seen of interviews taking place for IR and CR are Expedite and DCF IR and CR.

Has anyone else seen any bog standard IR or CR interviews taking place? if so, knowing their DQ date might give us a small insight.

Your comment is absolutely spot on, I was thinking the same myself.

VJ is just a snapshot of people actually applying.
