Congrats everyone on getting your interviews. Very much looking forward to getting to the States!

Ia anyone having issues registering the NVC assigned appointment?

Have you just received your interview date today? It can take a few days to get onto that system, try again tomorrow afternoon.

Congrats too all of you guys receiving interviews date! :) hopefully it will get only quicker and smoother now!

Questions: After receiving DQ from NVC, is there any communications happening up to scheduled interview? Or is the scheduled interview literally the next communication you receive?

None for us.  It was all silence until the email from NVC with the interview date and instructions.

Congratulations!

I expected a lot of us heard today. Looks like we got into the November batch, too, despite our DQ going ahead on July 1st, for a Nov 17th interview day. Which is excellent because I have been going a bit crazy with the not knowing, checking on here and the CEAC website several times each day 😃

Does this mean they are finally clearing some of that backlog? Hope everyone else in the May / June batch got their interview notification today!

Congratulations on getting an interview day! If you don’t mind my asking, did you get an expedite?

We applied but were denied. I have a suspicion that maybe if a denied expedite has tugged at some embassy heart strings (despite getting denied) you might get a tiny bump in your interview date (as I saw it happen to a couple of others on here?) but I could be reading too much into it and obviously no way to prove this (besides just what I have observed on here!)

I just had a thought- I got my police certificate at the beginning of May (when I submitted docs to NVC), which will make it 6 months old when I have my interview. Will i need to get another one or is it a year since the date of printing? Obviously there haven't been any changes but I just thought I would check!

It might be okay for the embassy, but if you haven't done your medical yet your police certificate will need to be less than 6 months old, see below for required documents for the medical:

  • Photo identification (e.g. driving licence, passport);
  • 4 photographs which meet Department of State requirements;
  • For applicants aged 16 and over, a UK police certificate (known as an ACRO) issued within the past 6 months;
  • Vaccination records, which can be obtained from your regular healthcare provider. If you are unable to obtain your vaccination record, you should consult with the panel physician at the time of your appointment.
  • Completed medical questionnaire, which can be downloaded here, as a PDF (1 page / 680Kb).

Just wanted to update this in case anyone else has this very strange issue---

We reuploaded the w-2 in CEAC yesterday, October 5th, and emailed the embassy with a scan and mentioned that the w-2 had been accepted by NVC in June when we became DQ. Got an email this morning October 6th,  (9:00 am UK time) saying they have the W-2 now and the case is with an officer. Our CEAC status changed from "Refused" to "Administrative Processing" at some point today!

will let everyone know when we finally get to "issued"

Another update--- status changed to "Issued" this morning October 8th! 4 days after interview!!

Mine was created on the 6th of May but printed on the 18th - so slow and no idea why it wouldn't be the same date! Does anyone know whether the validity would be 6 months started on the 6th of May or on the 18th?

Also, does anyone understand the reasoning why the medical people need to see a police certificate? I can't make sense of it. And do they hang onto it and pass it on to the embassy or will we get it back?

Did you get an interview date for the 17th? Police report valid for 1 year.

Nov 17th. So, if the start date is May 6th until Nov 6th, then I had better get to the medical before Nov 6th.

But if it is the 18th, I should be covered either way. It is slightly confusing that it took them two weeks to print it out and have both dates on there, so I am not really sure which one is considered the start of the 6 month period or not. I guess I can try to schedule it before the 6th either way, just in case.

I asked visa medical re the police report... It is 1 year, not 6 months.

My police certificate was printed the end of October last year. I used this at my medical two weeks ago. They take a copy and give it you back.
In the email I received from Visa medicals it states a police report within the last 12 months as does the embassy.

That's interesting. I submitted a couple expedites and they were denied. I also got my senators to write to NVC though. Your theory certainly has potential and I hope you're right! I'm a little more hopeful about hearing in November now. Ours is an August 6th DQ. :)

I wish we had known that!! We booked a medical much earlier than we intended because we thought the police certificate could only be 6 months old!!

On a separate note: DX sent a notification with tracking info for the passport coming back to us on Monday.  For three days now when I check the tracking in the morning it says the package is "on the road" and scheduled to be delivered today.  Then at around 4pm every day it changes to say "your redelivery has been booked for your chosen date" (with no actual date indicated).  I have not booked redelivery so I can only assume DX can't be bothered to deliver my package, so they change the delivery date every day to the subsequent day.  How long are we supposed to wait for this?  I cannot get a human on the phone at DX and am starting to get pi**ed off.
