Our expedite request got denied (I’m not surprised but still very frustrated). Can anyone tell me if this is just a generic email?!
I’m confused by the “once we have received all fees and documents” part, because I have been DQ since May!!!!!

“Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your patience. We sent your request to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in London, United Kingdom. However, they cannot expedite this case. To be fair to all applicants, the Department of State schedules immigrant visa interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC.

We will schedule a visa interview once there is one available for the case.

To learn more about NVC processing, please visit: http://nvc.state.gov/ for English or http://nvc.state.gov/espanol for Spanish.”

Damn it! Now I’m confused :( I was DQ back in May, and have an email saying “we have received all the fees and documents required”. This is so frustrating!

I think I will. Just another headache that I really don’t need!! Yes I hope so- although all other May people I have spoken to appear to have their interview already so we will see!!! Fingers crossed for both of us!! 🙌🏼

Would it be fair to say that assuming the airport arrivals is not too busy that this process is fairly quick at POE?

Best of luck with your interviews too, hope you're settling in OK?

Matt

I would say so. I had sat down getting ready for a long wait and it was just a few minutes.  I'd purposely booked a connecting flight for later to give me 5 hours between landing at Atlanta and leaving for bama but needn't have bothered lol was nice and easy and very friendly. Best of luck!

Well that was quick, just got an email saying my passport is with the courier, just a day after the interview.

Super fast!  I guess without all the nonimmigrant and fiancé visas to issue, they knock out what they have quickly. No queue at the visa printing station or courier packaging step.

Just a quick word of advice for those that are awaiting an interview and medical... Probably best to get a copy of your patient summary now from the GP despite it being valid or not (within the month). I almost had a big hiccup with mine. Picked up my summary and it had on "ACTIVE MAJOR TREATMENTS" as me having had an accidental overdose.... Well, that's great and all (not) but it was dated prior my birth. They did well in fixing the issue but it is best to see if there are any issues flagged up on your records, mistaken or not, so you are able to address it before your medical/interview dates. Especially now that it is COVID times, nothing is as smooth as it should be.

My medical is tomorrow! The receptionist was lovely and advised to come in regardless and any extra paperwork can be emailed. She also advised as long as everything is sent 48hours before the interview, it should be good.

Last fee ?

For spouse visas.

$220 Immigrant fee after you get the visa in hand
It pays USCIS to produce your greencard. You can pay online once you get the visa back or wait and pay later. You won’t get the actual greencard until you pay, but you will still be marked as a permanent resident in your passport when you enter the US on your visa.

Thanks - I didn’t know about that one.  They screw money out of you at every stage of this process.
