Well it's some come around. My interview is Monday at 9:30 am which means a 4:30 am start for me.

Are there any other checklists I can go over? I know that sounds silly as I have everything according to the interview checklist but perhaps there is some helpful info out there that could save my butt.

I want to be a prepares as I can be as I would like to be done with it before anymore lockdowns get in the way.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

If you already have an interview booked I’d caution against getting the letter after the medical as this requires counting on getting the letter in time for the interview.

I had the same issue, was given the same template and my GP was completely, utterly useless about it. I had to about a week to sort it all out and in the end paid a psychologist £325 just to have a 15 minute appointment with me and write a letter to say that I show no sign of self harm.

I only have one mental health issue on my file, it is just one appointment I had ever.

Do you think they will raise any concerns? Doesnt say I ever took any SSRI's or anti-anxiety or I was ever hospitalized.

If I recall correctly, you asked about this previously and stated that your summary care record indicates that you had a "mental health consult".

Because of the vagueness of that description, I would personally want to be on the safe side and bring a letter from my GP indicating that it was just a one-off consultation, no treatment was required, you were not at risk of harming yourself/others, and that this is no longer an issue. On the other hand, you could chance it and not bring the letter. The examining doctor will definitely ask about it, and he/she may be content with your explanation. On the other hand, they may prefer to see an official GP letter, and in that case you would then face a delay.

Thats a good call actually- -thank you for the insight.  I guess I was thinking it might just be easier for the GP to use the template from the medical exam.  I cannot believe what a pain that was for you; I am sorry you had to deal with all that. We are willing to for find a psychologist if it comes to that (but I hope it doesn't!). Nothing is ever simple with immigration is it? (understatement of the century!)

But it is for another US embassy. I think as long as you bring all the docs it asks for in your email and the general US embassy guidelines, you can't go too wrong. Good luck! How exciting.

I wouldn’t follow a list from another consulate. They are different. London does not want proof of your relationship or candid photos.  Review the embassy list https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/required-documents/

Can't really do that now. Tried to get it with my GP and he just said "Don't do it" and my medical is tomorrow. Not paying £300 for psych either unless they do one at the interview itself...

Good luck to you! Hopefully they won’t ask and it’ll all be over.

Hi all,

Regarding the "Referral from general practitioner (GP) regarding any ongoing medical issues or treatments".

Is this still required if I do not have any ongoing medical issues or treatments? As in, do I need a GP to write that I am not a risk to myself/others, even if I have nothing on my medical history to indicate any issues?

Also, I don't have a GP. I use "GP at hand", the Babylon app. They have my medical records and vaccination list, but I do not have a GP/person I can even ask for such a thing. Does anyone have experience with this?

Many thanks!

As long as you are able to have a record of your vaccinations and health summary it's fine. I don't have an in particular GP either as I changed practices a year ago but was assigned one. I don't think it makes much of a difference. I think it needs a letterhead of a medical centre/practice though, or details for reference. I don't have any health issues either but have requested for a health summary. Hopefully it's here in time. Good luck!

It would depend on what is said on your summary care record.

There seems to be a lot of discussion on here about patient summary/medical history.  My GP uses https://www.patientaccess.com/ where we can request repeat prescriptions, appointments etc.  For my medical record, I just printed it off of my patient access account and this was accepted by visa medicals without question.  I didn't have any mental health visits on my record so this won't apply for those who do, but for those who don't, you can just pull that off and not have to worry about your doctor taking their time/charging to print it.

The short answer is, no, you do not need a GP’s letter to confirm that you have no history significant medical or psychiatric issues, if you are completely healthy.

BUT, you do need to provide a summary care record, even if you are completely healthy. Every patient registered with a GP practice in the U.K. has one - this is a 1-3 page document detailing your immunisations and medical history. A GP practice can either print this off, or if you are registered for electronic patient access (like @T3G) then you can print it off yourself. Obviously, Babylon is a private company and not an NHS GP. Therefore, I am not sure if 1) they are able to provide a summary card record and 2) if this would be accepted by Visamedicals. Your best bet is to give both parties a call/email and ask. If the answer is no, register with a local GP and ask for a print out of your summary as soon as your registration is complete.
