I am very jealous of you all that finally got your interview, then again... I have an approved expedite and I'm just ticking the days down until its sent to the Embassy (which will probably be by next week.)

I just hope all the October dates are still open! I want to get to the US before the start of November :P

Have just booked an interview for 1 October.  We are DCF so had to book it ourselves and there were slots open this week and next week but none for the week after except the 1 October one and the only time slots were 9:00am, 9:30am and 10:00am.  We chose the 10:00am one.  There were no other interview times available that I could see in October.

Someone from the embassy actually phoned to notify us that they had expedited our processing and confirm that we had received the email with the case number (essentially packet 3), so there definitely is someone in the IVU working (even if it has felt like there isn't...).

Also got the interview email this morning. Congrats everyone. I've booked my medical and rang up the GP to get my medical history and vaccination record ready for that.

Can't remember what was said about the police certificate... it only lasts for six months?

I just checked my police check certificate and it has no expiry date on it. travel.state.gov says: "Every visa applicant, no matter their age, must bring certain documents to the interview, including photographs, the original or certified copy version of all civil documents submitted to NVC"

So I would assume there's no need to get a fresh police check? Let me know what you conclude though because if a new one is needed I have to get on that asap.

Hi Lewis1234,

Just spoke with DH and he called medical folks who said the PC is good for a year. So I think he's just going to follow that advice...?

The embassy website https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/required-documents/ says

Note: The police certificate must list all names and aliases by which you have ever been known, e.g. maiden name, alternative spellings of names used on legal documents etc. UK police certificates are valid for 12 months only.  Failure to present all necessary and valid police certificates at the time of the interview will incur significant delays to your application.  If your UK police certificate indicates “No Live Trace,”  or “Further  Information  Stepped Down” you are required to provide complete details of the offense(s) and disposition. If you do not recall the specific details, consider obtaining a Subject Access Report so that you can provide the Consular Officer with accurate information on the day of your interview. To obtain a Subject Access Report, visit http://www.acro.police.uk/subject_access.aspx.

Awesome!!! I am wanting one around October 10th. I hope it's open then! Thank you so much for this update... I'm gonna imagine they're gonna open October soon...

We have booked an interview for the 30th of September. Like @The4Sands, we applied via DCF so were able to book our own slot. Good luck to all those awaiting word from the NVC or those who applied via DCF and are awaiting LND numbers.

Oh man do your posts give me hope when I'm running out!

I've put it to the back of my mind for now, just plodding along and trying to be as hopeful as possible that some good news will be on the horizon shortly.

I bit the bullet at the end of August, took some unpaid time off from work to cover the quarantine time I'll need both ends and have travelled to see my husband.. BEST DECISION EVER, because it's been so long since we've seen each other, totally worth it! Being together, even just for a couple weeks has helped with the anxiety and uncertainty of everything though,

Thanks for keeping me hopeful @R1CH1991 :) keeping my fingers crossed for you that the good news email is on the way very soon!!

Hopefully we get the same good news email soon too haha :) It will happen. We’ve come so far now! :)

I’m DQ on May 30, but haven’t had my email yet!! Ahhhh I’m going to be checking every 5 minutes now 😂 congratulations to everyone!

We were DQ on June 1, so hopefully next round too.  Does anyone know if its only the one day they issue interviews, or is there a chance another batch might come out tomorrow.

I think procedures are a guess right now with things all out of whack. This was the first “batch” group of normal processing to make it out of NVC.  Time will tell if a pattern starts to develop. Remember Thursday 10th as a benchmark.

How long did it take you get a response to your expedite request, if you don’t mind me asking? My husband submitted ours on Wednesday to the nvcexpedite email... I’ve heard some people say they just don’t get a reply which I really hope isn’t the case- even if they deny, I’d rather know than no response! 😬
