Hi fellow may/June dq'ers.... Any scheduled appointments for London? Kinda hoping for late October...

Not yet, I was DQ'd on 11 May (not expedited)... was hoping for something to come through by now as I saw some 30 April DQs who have already had their appointment date confirmed

Good luck! June 1 for us.... Do the next batch of appointments come out next week?

Some new appointments opened yesterday on the calendar for September, including Wednesdays when only Monday and Thursday appointments were available before. None of these were showing up last week and earlier this week.

Openings Sept 14-30 on M, W, Th.

Does this mean that the embassy may still send more interview slots to the nvc for September?... That would be good news

Well I'm not getting it as a July DQ (unless expedite approved, which I doubt but it is worth the try) but less people lined up for interviews is better for me.

Just a question, how many people can they book in a day? 5?

So I had my interview on the 24th of August.

I arrived at the embassy about 20 minutes before my appointment. A lady came to look at my appointment and courier confirmation page and wrote some words on it. Security was a breeze. Walked outside to get to another building. The receptionist looked at the confirmation page and put some stickers with barcodes on the confirmation page. She also gave me my number. I then went up to the first floor, was greeted by another person and was told to go left and left to the immigrant visa waiting area.

I think there were about 5 people there. I waited for about 10 minutes for my number to be called. I presented all of my documents. For me, these were:

Birth certificate
Passport
Marriage certificate
Divorce decree
Passport photograph
I-184 and G-28
DS-160 confirmation page
Police certificates

I believe I was asked only for my husband's most recent W2 and IRS transcript. We didn't have a joint-sponsor.

I went to the cashier to pay for my visa and then sat back down. 5-10 minutes later my number was called again. This time to go to the interviewing officer. She asked me raise my right hand and swear that I would be telling the truth. She was a really nice woman and started off by telling me how much she loved my hometown in Asia. She then asked me how I met my husband and why we decided to get married. I was worried that my answers were very short e.g. as to why we decided to get married I answered that we felt it was the next step we wanted to take in our relationship. She then said that everything in the folder was good to go so I just had to wait 1-2 weeks for my visa. It was all done in <10 minutes. I was not asked about health insurance or intent to re-establish domicile.

The only thing that was a surprise to me was that the interviews are not done in a room. They're performed in a row of booths in the waiting room (same row of booths as the cashier and document reviewer) so everyone can hear you. It's a little awkward.

I checked CEAC obsessively after Monday. My status was 'Ready' until Wednesday morning when it changed to 'Administrative Processing'. A few hours later it said, 'Issued'.  We collected our passport today. So interview on the 24th, passport in hand on the 28th.

The one thing that caused a lot of stress with this was at the medical when they told me that they required a letter from my GP about mental health fitness. When I contacted my GP about this they told me they had struck me off the GP. Luckily we managed to pay for a private psychologist to have a session with me and write a letter. So if you have any medical issues that you think might need clarification I would get a start on trying to get GP letters. My issues were from 9 and 15 years ago so never would have thought I’d need a GP letter. I did also need a letter to exempt me from a couple of vaccinations but that I managed to get from my private consultant anyway.

Good luck to everyone!

And btw, @DCB, that was my husband you spoke to and we're really happy you got your passport back in time!

yes, likewise! 🤞🏼 really hoping everything can be finalized before christmas 🎄

I think I read something the other day that the Embassy opens new appointments to NVC based on monthly capacity.

So, kind of speculating too that they schedule on a month to month basis (at least for now).

Hopefully the beginning of a new month brings positive change for us. We're plain day May 27 DQ and case complete.

Well they just received our expedite request today... so now just awaiting an answer. I know my argument wasn't the strongest but I'm kind of getting my hopes up now. Just gotta try to keep them low lol

I haven't heard anything yet. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we are waiting until closer to the end of the week to receive any news on appointments. Going back some pages in this thread, I found that people were discovering around the 6th of August (Thursday) they received interview date appointments. I would imagine then for us it would be around the same timing for this week.

Agreed-- I actually went and double checked after my post! Also, yesterday was a Bank Holiday so today is basically a Monday for the embassy 🤞
