I have my medical tomorrow in London. I am fairly sure last time I went I was OK with my backpack, anyone know if this is still the case?

I don't see anything in the email from them, unless I am going blind.

Many thanks, Matt

Had mine this morning Matt and had my backpack with me - no issues.  Also, I emailed them in advance to ask about photos and they confirmed that they will take photos (which they did) so no need for you to take.

Thanks for the info! Looking forward to being done with that part of this process. Glad to hear yours went well, too.

Thanks, Matt

They only tell you not to bring photos if your case has gone online, which they can confirm if you call. If the embassy hasn’t uploaded your case online, you’ll need to bring pictures.

I went in with my backpack; no issues! Same for the interview: a normal backpack is fine.

You’ll never see those photos again! They’re only for the medical 🙂

Mine actually came out better than my passport photos! You just stand there in reception and smile and it comes out in black and white and then printed on your document they give you.

I got an email but I also called to check this morning - they said I don't need any....If they say otherwise when I am there they wont need to test my lungs.

Getting to London for the test has been a rather stressful event however I will relax with a coffee for a bit now. I am going to be around Bond Street if anyone else is around.

Has anyone flown to the UK during all the madness? What should I expect?

I have an upcoming trip in October and it will be the first time I have travelled during Covid. I last saw my wife at the end of February, but things weren’t really being taken seriously at that time.

Of course, if we hear anything about the interview between now and then I plan to reschedule my flight until after so she is able to fly back with me. She is very nervous about going through border control by herself, which is completely understandable. I find it daunting myself and I’m a citizen. 😅

Hey guys, for those of you who have received your passport back after being approved. What time of day did you get your notification from DX/the embassy that your passport had been picked up?

If we don’t get my passport back tomorrow, we’ll have to reschedule our flights :(

My US husband came to the UK in July. He had no issues at customs, but had to complete a Public Health Passenger Locator Form before arrival and had to quaranteen with me for 14 days.
Here's a link to the form: https://www.passenger-locator.co.uk/en/?msclkid=ca9ffe1f86fe12114e2fa1583874bbe9&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PCU - UK&utm_term=public health passenger locator form&utm_content=UK Passenger Locator Form - Exact

I (British Citizen) came back from the US on Sunday and had to do the same.

Hey, thanks!

Did you fly direct or did you have a layover?

Also, how strict were you guys with the quarantine? Did you stay in the whole time or did you mask up and do shop runs together?

I did a direct flight with BA because I know they know what they're dealing with. I saw some horror stories of other budget airlines not understanding the rules and denying entry.

Yes, we quarantined properly. He came out for walks with me in the fields where we weren't close to anyone else. But he stayed home at all other times, including food shopping.

Gotcha. I’m flying with Aer Lingus with an hour layover in Dublin. I’ve never had an issues with them, so hopefully this time is the same.

Thank you for being strict about it. It’s always best to be safe. I’m actually looking forward to be stuck inside because most of our trips are always go, go, go.

Cant help with your question but I was approved Monday also and my CEAC status changed to Issued yesterday morning. I'll let you know when I hear from DX as we're quite possibly in the same batch.
