That's the working theory but we don't know what their backlog is, how many cancelled interviews that were originally set for during lockdown have to be rescheduled still, expedite interviews etc etc.  At this point in time your best timeline is "play it by ear".  I think we're all holding thumbs for Monday and hoping to see movement.

Yip. .. That's why I'm saying first dq's in lockdown scheduled for end of next month. They would always have expedites to deal with. Anyway all theory at this stage I guess.

A comment on what the congressman said which is a little incorrect. It reads like the case has to get to London first  and London will give out the interview date.

Your interview date will be assigned by the NVC while the case is still at NVC. Then NVC will immediately forward the case to London. While London is closed, they don’t have any slots open for interviews except for a few expedites and other high priority visas. So NVC has to hold your case in the US until London opens up more interviews. The 6-8 weeks timeline for a case to remain at NVC is invalid while most activity in London is suspended. July 27 has been announced as the day the embassy will “open”. Because employment visas, fiance visas, and tourist visas seemed to have been put on the back burner, it appears maybe the embassy will work through spouse and student visas first. Time will tell because it’s a bit uncertain right now. If all the processing of your case by NVC is complete (referred to as DQ or documentarily qualified) then you are in the queue (with many others), waiting for NVC to be able to schedule your interview date.  Only then will the file cross the pond to await you attending the interview.

Just as a small clarification, meant to say "congressman's office." It was an individual from a high position on his staff who oversees inquiries and help with a federal agency on immigration who responded to my e-mails. They have been greatly helpful with clarifying documents we uploaded as we had a long NVC wait time to become documentarily qualified.

However, I agree with you that I think it was a bit off on what they were saying and I believe what you layout here as the process where NVC schedules appointment & then sends the case over is a more accurate take on what happens in the process. My spouse's case was documentarily qualified or "DQ'd" at the end of May, so like others I'm hoping for some movement soon after the "opening" on the 27th.

I'm eager to hear updates from anyone else if they have any movement on their cases this Monday.

Well it's the 27th - Here is hoping some or all of us get some news regarding out interview. It's been over 3 months since I got my DQ - I thought I would already be living in the US with my husband.

I just want this chapter to be over so that new ones can be written.

So if there is a month notice period from the 27th, they will in theory only start march/April dq appointments end August... And so forth? Still trying to get some sort of timeline.

I am hoping they lower it considering there won't be fiance visas, work visas, exchange visas, etc going to Knightsbridge so more slots open for us

for those who have had interviews, any particular face covering required for the visit to the embassy?

Yes they ask that you wear a mask / face covering as soon as you arrive at security check in (the same as supermarkets etc...) most of the staff are wearing them, even the guy who interviewed us had one on and he was behind a glass screen.

Anyone heard or seen anything? I've literally only seen people saying that they don't think London are actually processing anything that is not an emergency yet. Though I am taking that with a pinch of salt till I see something official.

Absolutely nothing

BUT

”normally” they schedule the last two days/first two days of the month from what I’ve read

Nada but my partner is going to call the embassy tomorrow to see if they will tell us anything. Not expecting an interview till the fall as we have a mid June DQ though. They might just be going through the F1s...I hope....

If you call, Could you ask them specifically if they are accepting cases from the NVC when appointments become avaible.

If not, no worries. I was planning to call by Friday.

I called today and they said that they are in fact processing visas again, however, they are only working on student visas for the next 3 weeks. There is no rush for them right now.

When I spoke to the NVC yesterday they said that the embassy was closed, and they weren't sending anything over. I am going to call them again to get that package sent over!!!
