Since the EO is aimed at “Suspending Entry of Aliens Who Present a Risk to the U.S. Labor Market Following the Coronavirus Outbreak” (direct quote from the EO), why do you think K-1s would be affected? How do people who cannot work “present a risk to the US labor market”?

I saw this in the Washington Post

I don't know what the actual situation is, but that makes it sound like it would be affected.

Trump on April 22 ordered a 60-day freeze on several categories of family and employment-based immigration visas, and that suspension has now been extended through the end of 2020.

K-1 is a non immigrant visa.... The language only excludes spouses and children under 21.

Sec. 3.  Scope of Suspension and Limitation on Entry.  (a)  The suspension and limitation on entry pursuant to section 2 of this proclamation shall apply only to any alien who:

(i)    is outside the United States on the effective date of this proclamation;

(ii)   does not have a nonimmigrant visa that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation; and

(iii)  does not have an official travel document other than a visa (such as a transportation letter, an appropriate boarding foil, or an advance parole document) that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation or issued on any date thereafter that permits him or her to travel to the United States and seek entry or admission.

It's not mentioned.  This thread title is incredibly misleading.

Agreed. This is already an incredibly stressful and confusing time and this thread title is not helping at all. I'm sure this was not OP's intention though but yeah :/

Going back to the original Executive Order (EO):

"Section 1.  Suspension and Limitation on Entry.  The entry into the United States of aliens as immigrants is hereby suspended and limited subject to section 2 of this proclamation."

Since K1' visas are not immigrant visas (see Dept. of State link below), the EO does not apply to K1s. Therefore, K1's should not be affected on the USCIS level. However, as other users experienced there are delays on the Embassy levels due to each country's own Covid-19 reopening procedures.

Overview: What Is a K-1 Visa?

The fiancé(e) K-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a United States (U.S.) citizen.
