That is false. Did you read the actual order or just the tweet? I'm going with just the tweet..

It doesn't matter. I guess you can be approved, but the process of green card issuance might be halted, that doesn't mean you will be rejected, it might mean just more wait time. You can say it is false, you can pretend everything is fine, but the fact is Trump does have the authority to at least drag out the processing time.

Please stop posting ignorant comments here.

What's ignorance got to do with anything else? Ok, maybe I should have rephrased it by saying most green card approvals might be halted. If you think everything is fine and nothing has changed, it doesn't really matter what kind of executive orders Trump issues, then so be it. Good luck. Attacking or bashing me won't do anything.

What has the POTUS done to halt or slow the processing timelines of green cards in the US? Can you point me at a policy, EO, etc?

(His policies did likely slow down AOS in the past with requiring an interview for AOS when they were eligible for a waiver in the past, although interview waivers have been issued due to COVID now).

According to reports and Trump's executive order. Green card issuance has been temporarily halted, that doesn't mean applicants will be rejected. Also staff of USCiS will be cut about 50 percent in the up coming weeks. No one is saying applicants will be denied, but the administration's policies do have an impact on the processing time. You really think what POTUS' executive orders have absolutely no impact on the processing time? I am just being realistic, and I know it is also important not to panic.

Not true that all approvals are stopped. Spouses and children under 21 of US citizens can still get immigrant visas, as can certain other visa categories (medical personnel, special immigrants etc). Obviously embassies also need to reopen.

I could be wrong, but I believe green card approvals have been delayed/halted according to reports, that doesn't mean applications will be denied.

Which reports? I legitimately don't know the source of this claim.

And which EO? The only EOs on this I've sen recently mention visas.

The potential staffing cut certainly may slow things down. 100% agree there. But that is due to a funding shortage, of which their funding of petitions and applications comes from fees, not anything with POTUS.

I legitimately do not think the EO is impacting USCIS processing time in a meaningful way. They don't touch anything that USCIS does.

You think whatever The White House does have absolutely nothing to do how USCIS operates? If you think E0 has zero impact on USCIS, think again. I always try hard not to inject politics here, but there's no evidence that suggests the staff cutting has nothing to do with Trump's stance on immigration.

USCIS does not issue VISAs.  Greencards will continue to be issued for family members in the US or that already have VISAs.

It is pretty self explanatory according to NPR unless you think it is fake news. It says Trump froze all green cards in May. Can you find me a link that shows otherwise?

Found another link, that might clear things out a bit better. The green cards issued for applicants outside United States has been frozen.

I was referring to historical processing.

For those EOs specifically, I am going off the wording of the EOs themselves. Nothing in them touches anything with green cards in the US. Read them yourself.

You are reading something that simply is not there.

The article incorrectly says green cards where it means immigrant visas. It's not unusual for a news outlet to not differentiate between visas and status.
