Hi there,

I got divorced in California, LA and I live outside of the US. I need a certified copy, with an apostille on it (legalized).

I can acces my case online and see all of my documents, but I assume these are not certified.

How can I obtain a certified copy, so I can get an apostille on it.

You can order certified copies online through the LA Superior Court website here: https://www.lacourt.org/LDOS/index.aspx

The Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, in accordance with California Government Code sections 68150 (a) (f) (g), is providing certified copies of records maintained electronically by the Court through this site.

The Divorce Judgment Document Order site allows the public to order copies of divorce judgments without having to visit the Archives and Records Center (ARC).

You just need to pay by US credit or debit card (not Amex though). If you don't have one they give instructions on how to order in writing.

I would try calling the Family Division. They are open now. My divorce was finalized in the LA Superior Court at the beginning of last year and I found that the few times I had to actually deal with them directly they were very helpful in the Family Division. It may be that you need to submit in writing but there is going to be a solution.
