Anyone knows how this may affect H1B transfers, like, if someone wants to transfer an already issued (very recent)  H1B from one company to another?

My quick guess is transfers are going to be ok.

I'm less confident about extensions / renewal - I think that will take time to work out and will depend on the economy and politics.

I've seen a few. I just have anxiety so I worry. I am traveling with my K2 and it is two flights to even get to port of entry and then two more to get to my fiance so.. A stressful time!

I definitely sympathise, which airports are you flying to? The girl that flew from Mexico started a thread on here where everyone offered support, that could help!

So the administration totally ignored Section 4 of the EO and did not follow the 50 days put forth for the review??????? and expanded it on day 59

I'm sorry? You're surprised? Expect this to get extended after his reelection, possibly all the way until January 2025.

Sec4.  Termination.  This proclamation shall expire 60 days from its effective date and may be continued as necessary.  Whenever appropriate, but no later than 50 days from the effective date of this proclamation, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Labor, recommend whether I should continue or modify this proclamation.

No, the administration complied with Section 4. Those executive branch Secretaries submitted their official recommendations to POTUS on May 22 (i.e. before the 50 day deadline)

"DHS, which is advocating for the changes, and the Labor Department sent their recommendations to the White House Friday." https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/25/trump-broaden-foreign-worker-bans-276510

Section 4 was NOT a self-imposed deadline on issuing a follow-up Proclamation.

As I mentioned above, the administration actually complied with Section 4.

Still expect this to get extended again until the end of his presidency.

I would be shocked if he ended it. This is what he has wanted for a very long time.

Sigh :( I talked with my fiancé yesterday after the EO came out and we agreed that if he gets reelected we will think about moving to Europe, it’s scary to think that this ban might get even worse if he wins second term.

So is that it then? Spouses of LPR’s can’t immigrate possibly for the next five years if Trump is re-elected?

It is so heartbreaking. My wife and I have the situation like yours. We feel the pain. Our right as an immigrant tax payer is affected by Trump. What does it make difference between us and a US citizen? Are we different humans? I wish there was a way to sue him and stop this unfair order.

This affects me as a worker. It brakes my heart, my soul. It is clear the POTUS only cares about re-election. I cannot stay alone in the US without my wife for years.

It's one of the few parts of his original platform that he's actually been able to push through. There's still room for him to run on even more restrictive policy in November and now he has the added "argument" that his opponent will undo his work and give American jobs to foreigners.

There's no reason for him to ever undo this, his base loves it and he wants to be on their good side until the end of his presidency.

Please encourage the Americans you know to vote in November. There is a way to change course sooner rather than later.

We should also consider reaching out to the Biden team and bringing them our concerns. We are more likely to find a receptive ear there.

Well, I have been doing this even to his supporters. To tell them feel our pain, this is not fair, we are a family too - we are immigrants like you were 100 years ago. This land belongs to the people. We can’t live without each other for long.
I wish there was a quicker way to at least stop this executive order, not sure to who we should tell our stories and our pain.

It wouldve been nicer to pass this order through congress. That’s what they are built for.

If I knew that my future could be severely affected by someone’s signature or order, I would have thought differently about my career and my life.

I try to reach to attorneys to see if they have a way to fight this right. It is my right to have my wife and kids with me.
