I sincerely hope so dear

Me too.

And this may come across insensitive and self-interested because I know some people may be relying on those employer and work-related visas, but for us K-1 applicants does this mean our timelines might be improved because these other applications will be placed on hold?

I'm new to all this, so please forgive my ignorance.

I'm sure you followed the Nigerian immigrant visa ban thread, I'm also sure you saw the k1 visa approvals after the ban kicked off,  k1 visa is a non-immigrant visa,  so cheer up okay?  I'm just sad some more people will be affected with this recent restrictions,  I'm pretty sure all will be fine again.

The new restrictions won’t apply to visa-holders already in the U.S., or those outside the country who have already been issued valid visas.

This was a part in the article i just read!

This drives me nuts 😭😤

Yeah, I'm not going to trust an article in a general interest newspaper to get it right immediately. I want to see the EO itself and I want to see actual immigration attorneys give their opinion on what it means. We all know major media outlets don't know their rear end from their elbow when it comes to anything relating to immigration.

They are not processing K1s for me because of the proclamation wasn't clear on K1 being unaffected. In a sense its up to each individual embassy how they see the new proclamation whether or not they will issue K1s from now til end of the year.

Furthermore, intending applicants should note that on April 22, another Presidential Proclamation was issued that suspends the entry of certain immigrants to the United States for a period of 60 days.  More information about this Proclamation can be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/Proclamation-Suspending-Entry-of-Immigrants-Who-Present-Risk-to-the-US-labor-market.html.

This was the copy and paste response from the Chinese embassy

yes I  do follow the Nigerian thread and I see the approvals...but information fro embassies in europe have not been encouraging thats what i meant by the need for clarifications. I am just saying its not right that we have to second guess something as important as immigration

You saying basically that embassies are allowed to go solo interpreting the EO and deciding who to issue k1 and who not to issue?
