Hi! I have a question for everyone who filed i765 work authorization form adjusting from j1 status through marriage. I am not a subject of two year rule what means I can get married here, stay, and apply for work permit as well. The only thing is in form i765 question 27 I can’t find any eligible category for myself. I am still j1 intern. There is nothing like that if you go to the instruction to the form i765 and try to find an answer for who is eligible to file i765. I know for sure I need to fill that form. Should I indicate (c)(9)?

Thank you so much! My husband and I couldn’t figure it out. I just guessed

FYI its not the visa category but the basis of you getting EAD. you are filing 765 based on AOS which is always c9

Thank you. Now I am confused about the first question in the form: am I still applying for initial permission to accept employment (not that: I apply for renewal of my permission to accept employment)?
