The NVC will forward it to the embassy. My embassy instructions said to bring it to interview but it was not asked for. They had the copy that the NVC forwarded along with all the civil documents.

So I'm a little bit confused about the affidavit support does my wife need to bring it when she gets a interview because on the government website it says she doesn't need a bring it but then another section says they do

Honestly, to be on the safe side and to ensure she has anything/everything they could possibly ask for so you are not told you have to send in documents after the interview which would result in delays, I’d suggest taking a copy of the packet you submitted to file her petition along with all the additional documents they require her to bring to the interview.

They will tell you that you are documentarily qualified.   The actual decision is made at the consulate.  Get a a copy for her to take the the interview.   If it changes or you file another tax return before the interview, send a new I-864 and tax transcripts to her.

Okay thanks but if the NVC accept my documents is that a high chance that I'll be approved I know that I should be based on my income

Approved for what?  The NVC doesn't "Approve" anything.   They get all of the documents together for the consulates and make sure the math is correct.  Once you are documentarily qualified they can schedule the consulate appointment (once the consulates reopen).   The consulate will approve or refuse the VISA.

NVC determined your affidavit of support was sufficient to be sent on to the Consulate.  That's a good thing, but not a predictor of success.

Well thank you although I would rather have a definite answer I'd hate for my wife to go all the way to the interview just for them to say it's not accepted

There is NEVER a "definite answer" until the interview.  Consular Officers are the ones that make decisions about visas.  You definitely submitted an affidavit of support that meets the minimum requirements but the ultimate decision is a judgment call based on totality of circumstances at the time.  If you lose your job between now and the interview still several months away, then what you submitted will no longer be adequate.

NVC basically determines if the information provided is sufficient enough to “grant or recommend,” an interview at the consulate.
It is really not an indicator of whether or not the visa will be approved.
They can ask almost anything in the interview and it may/may not have anything to do with the paperwork submitted. They look at everything: Social Media accounts, family ties and relationships, a person’s conduct during the interview, how the individual answers their questions etc. The consulate does a deep dive into each person they will be interviewing prior to the interview.

It is the person conducting the interview at the consulate who determines if the visa will be approved or not. Also, please note, that the interview may or may not be the final step. They can ask for additional information to be provided to them after the interview.
So; it is possible a determination may or may not be rendered on the day of the interview. In my husband’s case, they provided him with a short list of additional information they wanted and gave him a week to get it to them. So he had to return to his home town, obtain and submit the additional paperwork requested and then he waited another 4-5 weeks after they received that paperwork before he received his approval letter along with his stamped passport.

Oh and FYI, whatever you do, do not book any flights for you and your spouse (especially your spouse) for her to travel to the US until the visa is approved and you have the stamped passport. They will look to see if travel arrangements have been made prior to the interview. This can be detrimental to an approval as it suggests the person being interviewed assumes their visa will be approved!!

Thanks for the reply I know about all the Visas stuff I was just asking about the Affidavit of Support I just always assumed that would have to be approved before you can even get a interview or else what would be the point also that would be kind of stupid to book a plane ticket because if they're denied you out money

You’d be surprised how many people actually do book flights before their interview. It’s crazy!

Didn’t  know if you knew about the other stuff and figured better mention it just in case.
