Hey guys,

I'm trying to request tax transcripts to upload to the NVC CEAC website but I just found out that because I can't verify my identity through the IRS online transcript request system I will have to do it by mail.... But the IRS isn't doing mail requests until further notice. I can't verify my identity because i don't have any of those financial account numbers they need.

I know on the travel.state.gov website it says i can submit a copy of my tax return instead but sounds like it's not recommended. You guys think it will be ok to do this? I imagine the file size could be larger than 2mb if it's the whole return I'm uploading. Thanks!

Yes, upload the whole return and W2's etc.  PDF file sizes can be reduced by anyone with the full version of Adobe.  Might have to take to UPS Store etc.

Yeah me too. I am in the same situation as well. Couldn't request transcript online b/c of the cell phone number/name and they're not taking mail applications. I think i have to do what youre doing also. Just commenting for my reference.

Good luck.

Ok thank you very much! Do you know if there's a chance they will reject my scanned Tax Return because I didn't have a Tax Transcript instead? Should I have an explanation of why I didn't include one?

Thanks, yes I imagine you will just have to upload your return instead as there doesn't seem to be any other choice. Good luck to you as well!

A chance, sure.  Unlikely though.

We had the same issue and we sent in my husbands tax returns and w2s from the last 3 years, as well as those of our co-sponsor. We also sent a letter explaining why we couldn't include transcripts and stating that we would bring them to the interview. We didn't want to risk that chance of getting an RFE and we didn't! We got DQ, so hopefully you have the same luck!

Thanks for the useful info! So you sent that letter about the transcripts to the NVC? Or did you upload it to the CEAC website?
