Hello everybody,

I'm just filing my I-131 for Advance parole and need an advice on what to write on that separate piece of paper - circumstances that warrant issuance of an advance parole. I heard somewhere that I don't even need to write it if I'm applying for an adjustment of status. Could somebody help me??? :help:

You have to give them a reason (or multiple reasons) why you want to leave the US while going through the AOS process. Just be honest! :)

This is what I wrote:

My application to Adjust Status from K-1 visa status to Permanent Resident (with Conditions) has been filed with the Oklahoma City District Office at the same time as this Application for Advance Parole.

While this is pending, kindly approve this application in order to facilitate my visit to my home country of Canada, ideally in late May 2005. During this particular visit my husband and myself wish to do a number of things:

1) visit family and friends that were unable to attend our wedding in Tulsa, Oklahoma, especially my elderly grandparents (one of whom has a heart condition).

2) attend a number of gatherings that will be held in our honour celebrating our marriage.

3) retrieve my stored household items that I left behind when I moved to the United States in November 2004 and bring them back with us.

4) Meet our new niece or nephew who is due to be born this week (by Jan 22, 2005)

I am applying for a multiple entry AP document in the event of familial emergency, particularly in light of my grandmother’s health issues, and also to participate in the wedding of my best friend in the summer of 2005.

It might have been a bit of overkill, but I got my AP!
