That’s exactly what the petition that they have created is asking for. And it is advocating that they should be considered as immediate family members, as that’s what some official forms state, and the DS-160 is a clear example. No one is saying that they have to be categorized that way, but they could be considered that way.

Again, you are paraphrasing an opinion.  I am going by the exact wording of the petition.   By signing, I will be part of those that "advocates that Fiances ARE IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS"  I do not agree.  Why would I sign something that I do not advocate?

If you don’t agree, you indeed don’t have to sign, they’re simply requesting to be exempt from the ban. And nothing else.

The petition argues that k1s have not been properly addressed by the travel bans and should be exempt.

If you want to be Immediate Family then the option is to get married.  Very few countries have a Fiance Visa.

Same. I personally support an exemption to that EO for K visa holders. The risk/reward right now merits it IMHO.

I do not support what is stated in the petition.

Agree 100%.

The petition makes a false statement about US government policy......they could have simply done what you just stated......

That is demonstratively false.  When you sign a petition, you sign the whole petition.  The whole petition is not "simply requesting to be exempt".

Of course, that’s the request they have pointed out. And the ultimate goal. Stating that a fiancé can be considered “immediate family” is confirmed to prove that they are considered that way in the DS, and as such could be exempt. I would want to remind you of the fact that the DS is an official form, released by the government indeed.

Hmm, I beg to differ. Australia has a partner visa. It does not require you to get married within 90 days.

Lol that's WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO!!!!! Fortunately the US DOES have a fiance visa and for some people it is the only reasonable option to get married.

As far as I'm concerned the petition has served its purpose - it has people talking about the fact that the K1 visa is not addressed in the travel ban and some agree it should be exempt. Be pedantic about it and don't sign it, what ever.

I sincerely don't get why the spousal visa holders are so hurt about K-1 being processed IN THESE CURRENT TIMES with the same urgency as the spousal visas.

I see no evidence of that at all.

😂😂😂what did i just read? Since when did fiances have equal rights with spouses? Anyone who reads the definition of a nuclear family- it consists of father (husband), mother(wife) and children- did you see fiance being a family member? . Even in matters non-immigration, a fiance is just that. A prospective. As in the government does not even formally recognize you. Anywho. Good luck in the journey. Keep us informed.

Wrong. Until recently it was also used for k2 which is spouse. Why are you so against us trying to get our k1s? I thought this site was to support each other through a very difficult process.

In times of difficulty nobody wants to be objective. We totally understand.
