hmm good idea. I think PAL flys direct to NY which would be closest for me

care to share the top reasons not to layover in another country even if its not banned?

PAL is initially only going to fly to SFO and LAX.  Might be awhile before they restart JFK

YMMV

Will later. No time at the moment.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

@chris413 As I mentioned about the Non stop with PAL, @flicks1998 I agree for this reason, because most of the international connecting flights happen in China, Korea, or Taiwan. They are having their own issues and quarantine requirements. Its not like Pre-Covid you would just changes flights with a four or five hour layover. Very good possibility you be stuck there. PAL has a limited flight schedule, which you can check on there announcements page online. Even if you have to fly into LAX and get a domestic flight to the east coast. I know the Chinese and other airlines are a lot cheaper than PAL, as they have doubled the price to the USA. For me, now way would I risk it.

Looks like PAL is offering the JFK flight once a week now.  At least the option to purchase is there.  Whether it actually flies is a different matter altogether.

I checked the US embassy Philippines facebook pages and it was listed on the departing flights for one of the days this week
