Nothing has changed here in the echo chamber, but in the real world, yeah a lot of Trump supporters I talk to are not real happy right now. Whether they actually vote for someone else I don't know, but they do want to see better from the guy they supported.

That's ironic, because my IRL experience is quite different.  (Then again, it is Florida.)  My takeaway from most conversations is that people don't really want to sat much, but they plan to vote red in November.

Tonight's going to give a ton of fodder for the Biden team, I bet. We're doing a watch party tonight (through Zoom of course) with friends and someone is working on a drinking game. . .

my thoughts to you is to start buying lotion-infused tissues every month between now and November.  You're gonna need a lot of them. 🥰

I can't get really excited. US politics is currently a little like watching two sinking ships. The only thing to celebrate is being on the one that is going down slower.

I agree with you on this.  I can NOT and will NOT vote for Trump.  But I am not sure I can vote for Biden either.  I probably will but don't feel great about it.

With the coercive attempts of thoughtpolicing and censorship of anyone not on the far left ramped up, the "silent" vote will only be more pronounced, which means MSM polls (regardless of whether or not they're from the usual fake news or even FOX) are even more unreliable than in 2016. Of course, silence isn't exactly a good sign either, as we know with psychology, the intended effect of demoralization is bound to decrease participation, as well as have a domino effect on cognitive dissonance (equilibrium). Trump's rallies are key to him marketing on his terms, circumventing the left+establishment's control and attempts to both push their own narrative and thoughtpolice/censor opposing speech. As Google, Twitter, and Facebook execs and employees said, they can't allow another Trump term. On the ones they do control, look forward to tactics like "second wave" hysteria (to induce economic hysteria), another round of impeachment in the House, and driving more race division/riots. All Trump has to do is remind people what they have to lose with a President like Biden and re-election is easy. Even with a Trump re-election, the left are still emboldened to take their acts a bit further, but I have more faith a lame duck Trump would be more willing to forcefully push his agenda, which is exactly what's needed against these powerful institutions and deranged left.

It'll be the first time I vote for a Republican for President, and wouldn't be surprised if it winds up the last, since I can't tell what a post-Trump GOP looks like. Any vote either of the two main parties get from me overcomes a lack of better options in 3rd party and write-ins, and I tend to have preference for those.

Well I stocked up the other week -- it's almost the time of year I get allergies so I'm fine, but thank you for thinking of me. :)

Reminds me of a tweet I read last month.  A woman said that if Joe Biden raped her in public, she would still vote for him over Trump.

Makes sense.

Well I wouldn't go that far - but I do understand what she is saying.  We have a choice of two men and we have to choose.  One man is not so great.  One man is beyond horrible.  So you choose the best of the two bad candidates.  I still can't believe these are the two best candidates this country has to offer.

We've started watching, pre-gaming? :P Actually we haven't opened any liquor yet, I'm doing Duolingo and Al is doing some calculus for "fun." Our Zoom watch party starts in fifteen minutes. Anyway it looks kind of not full in the arena right now, and the overflow outdoor area is nearly empty and now being dismantled, supposedly due to protesters but if that's the case, why are there people milling around there anyway?

Here are the initial rules we got:

Drink once for:

  • Tremendous
  • Beautiful
  • Thug
  • AnTEEfa
  • CHINA!
  • Many people
  • Fake news
  • Sleepy Joe
  • *sniffles*
  • *grabs water with both hands*
  • Russia!
  • do nothing Democrats
  • *talks about his big beautiful brain*
  • *talks about "democrat states" / "democrat cities"
  • *talks about how no other President has done more for black people*
  • impeachment
  • Hillary
  • Deep State
  • CNN
  • Hunter Biden
  • Lil Adam Schiff
  • guns
  • "my people"

That's going to be a lot of drinking. Do you still have time to pick up a keg?

I'll ask you, like I have several people (none of whom are willing to answer)...

What had Trump done in the past three years that is so bad for this country?

One of the women that back up Tara Fred's claim about some Biden said she would vote for him anyway because she hates Trump

That is a good example of how social media has twisted the minds of so many people today.  It's sad to watch.

He is racist, sexist. Eats 2 scoops of ice cream, drank water with 2 hands once, over feed some goldfish, moved the statue of MLK out of the oval office, parked a truck in front of his golf game, and clearly has Parkinson's for ginger stepping down a ramp.

Jesus are you blind.
