After calling the IV unit twice today both times was like speaking to a robot reading a script. Every question being referred to the embassy website which then was referring me to call them for answers ! Can't win 🤣

Emergency visas have no category restrictions. Routine K1 visas seems to be affected

How is that possible? Because I requested an expedite and they told me they couldn’t grant it because K1s are subject to the travel ban (the one of March)

There is no such thing really as an emergency visa. There's emergency appointments for a visa.

In order to be issued the visa, one must still be admissible. The requirements for an exemption to the EO are very different than that of an emergency appointment.

Now it's possible that individual met both. Or it's possible (more likely IMO) that the EO didn't cover them.

Military reasons, I had all the documentation needed yet I was told I can’t request it until the ban will be lifted

Read Section 2 as to who the EO does not apply to such as those who already have a visa,  family members of USC, etc

K1 visa applications (not approved and issued)   were left out

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/22/politics/trump-executive-order-immigration-coronavirus/index.html

Luckily it went into effect April 23rd and is for 60 days (Section 4) and is about to expire in 5 days

also does say that the Secretary of Labor along with Secretary of State and Secretary of Homeland Security were suppose to review the EO no later than 50 days after the start date (Did they as i didn't hear of this)  to see if the EO was to be extended.   Section 4 also

So,  thinking your interview is canceled for other reasons like the embassy is not fully staffed and ready to open (phase 3)

https://www.state.gov/update-on-u-s-passport-services/

I don't see most embassies at phase 1 yet

Those of us that had K1 visa appointments scheduled for July at the US Embassy in London have received cancellation notices today. In addition to this, the below email has also been received:

The text of this email suggests that as K1 visas are issued by the Immigrant Visa unit they are unable to process them at this time. Has anyone being processed by other embassies received similar correspondence?

I don't believe that visa-info.com is an official government source.  I'd check with an official source before making any judgement.

I didn’t expect to have people talking about me!

Anyway, my interview was an emergency interview. My case was already at the consulate when it closed. There’s been a few fellow Australians who were also approved for their interviews. My interview was June 2nd.

There’s no ban on Australians entering the country so I guess that’s why it was able to work out. Although separately to this there’s a ban on me leaving my own country which is what I’m trying to work on. Anyway my flight isn’t until 14/7 so I’m hoping a new EO won’t impact me and praying every day.

I sent an email the the one in Brussels a while ago and all they mentioned was that they weren't processing routine visas. When I asked about our NOA expiring soon, a few weeks ago, they told me to send a new Letter of Intent when they resumed processing. They didn't mention the EO at all. They still might when they resume processing, but it didn't seem like the EO mattered, at least in that email.

Gotcha, thanks. The perplexity persists..

I don't think that K1s are part of the EO or that the UK is saying that. Right now, no embassies have resumed routine services. However, the new directive issued on June 17 by DOS has stipulated those categories listed in your E-mail as mission critical, which embassies are allowed to process during the first phase of reopening. Routine services, which include K1s, does not return in Phase One.

^This. visa-info.com is a paid website.

"G3 Global Services, LLC is a private company that charges a fee to expedite passport and visa applications at consulates and passport agencies."

AKA they're people you pay to help process paperwork and such.
