Hi All, first post here. I though it might be a good idea to have an "announcement watch" tracker to try and accurately track what the officials are saying via news media and elsewhere. Whilst this site is incredibly informative there are a lot of opinion based updates which are misleading and I thought it might be good to have a section whereby updates are shared eradicating all false hope by cutting  rumor-mill discussion.

The U.S. embassy here in Dublin has not yet opened - so trying to keep my finger on the pulse on when we may actually get an interview date..

There is no material update since the 2nd June: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ie/niv/information/announcements#571-urgent_information_for_visa_applicants_regarding_novel_coronavirus_20200526162555

There currently there are many threads discussing the topics you have mentioned. You see many do not get outside of the K-1 thread to see what other items that VJ has installed to make your journey more informative. I'll share a few links with you.

I think you are missing my point here, the links posted are awash with opinion based updates. I don't want to spoil the thread by getting into a debate. Official announcements from credible sources only please!

Hi OP,

My interview in April with the Dublin embassy was cancelled. My fiance emailed them recently and got this reply back. Still no news as to whether they're officially reopening yet.

 Thanks for the heads up.

I got a message on twitter from a lady that’s been hounding the embassy and getting the same generic answer “there’s nothing we can do etc etc”, though something changed this week. Instead of getting that same standard response, they said to keep a daily eye on their website, to check for updates. Still all hearsay, but fingers crossed there is something in this sudden change in advice from them. As an interesting aside, I hear certain Irish embassies around the world will start standard visa processing and consular services from 1st July onwards, so maybe the US might do something similar in Dublin. We’re close to stage 3 on that diplomacy strong doc, well as of June 29th we will be!

out of interest, what date did you send the email to receive that generic response above?

It was wishful thinking to think we would get any sort of official announcement or update by now! Rumors and second/third hand updates are about the best we can do around here....

Thanks for the information!

That email was sent last Friday. I'm hoping we will get some news in the coming week. It seems like a lot more American embassies are more open with information if you email them than Dublin is. It's frustrating. Hopefully after June 29th we will get an answer.

Just as an aside, did you have your medical already done in the mater? Mines out of date in August and it looks like I'll need to do it again 😕 But I'm waiting until they give us more information.

Yes I did my medical in March. I think it lasts 6 month? That would be annoying if you had to re-do. It's not cheap....

I emailed them again today for update and ended up getting them on the phone, there is no material update to report. It seems there is little or no guidance or update given to embassy officials on re-opening dates and therefore they cannot provide anything to the general public. They said the primary function of the embassy is to provide services to the citizens of USA, and they will get to the visas when possible. It came across as a bit rude to be honest. Feeling extremely frustrated by the process today.
