LOL.  Just checked.  Current gulf temp here at Naples is just over 84.

I keep the pool at 88.

Oh, just checked.  Water temp Cape Cod,  63!

Too warm for me. :dead: In an ideal world it would always be 60F and overcast. I was born in the wrong part of the world.

Also when it comes to the Cape, it depends which side of the Cape you're on, bay side or ocean side, plus the temps in August (usually the time of year we got shipped out east) are a little warmer than that in my recollection. And I am comparing all of this to the Pacific which is brutal!!!

Water temps along the LI Sound are a little better than the Cape, more like 70 in July/August which is perfect. I spent way more time there than on the Cape -- usually day trips though I spent a week in July once at a boyfriend's family compound that was on the edge of a lake, and was considerably warmer.

Now I really want a lobster roll.

The warmest water I have ever swam in was in the Persian Gulf. I went swimming hope it would cool me down and it was like warm warm bath water and a complete let down.

But this is the part of the world where they have ACs for the pool to keep them cool during summer

I have never been, but Voldy went to Dubai several times for work. I remember the first time he went, he told me that his hotel was only about a quarter mile from where he was due to have a meeting so he figured he could just walk it. The hotel staff were very clear that it was a bad idea, and there were multiple Bentleys  available to drive him. He brushed them off, said he was made of tougher stuff. He told me he got about 50 meters before he realized he was very, very wrong.  Bentleys all the way from there on out.
