I'm confused about this website. I stumbled upon it while researching when the embassies will reopen for Immigrant interviews.

Question: Are you supposed to wait until you actually have an interview date to make an account and login or do you only have to be document qualified and your supposed to make an account here at time of DQ?

the ais website is where you schedule your interview and biometrics if you're applying to a non-immigrant visa.

For Cr1 they still use that site but you can't choose your interview date, it has to be assigned. Also I think if you're info hasn't been sent to the Consulate then you won't be able to log in to the AIS website.

Service Center: Texas Service Center SRC

Consulate: Juarez, Mexico

I-130 NOA1: 2019/03/21

I-130 NOA2: 2019/09/17

NVC DQ: 2020/01/21

Visa Approved: 2021/07/01

I'm not talking about CEAC.

Click on my link in original message

that site only tells you how to apply

not what to do after cc or when the embassies will open

BTW  they are just at stage 1 of the process to reopen

the following USCIS site gives you more info about the stages to open the embassies under 2 stage 3 it tells about restaffing and getting started for processing visas but still no date is announced

Yeah. Not what I was looking for. That sight is all about passports.

I understand that this sight...... https://ais.usvisa-info.com/?visa_type=iv

Doesnt say a thing about when embassies open.

My original question is in reference to 1) do you register on that website once you get DQ

OR

2) do you have to wait for NVC to make an appointment for you first, then register on that website

OR

3)do you not register on that sight ever

I'm confused as to why you are telling me all this other stuff.

According to your timeline, you went through this process 10 years ago.

There has been a huge number of changes in the past year.

Is there anyone that can shed some light on this that just went through it?

There has got to be somone that understands what I'm trying to ask.

My main concern is.... Oh never mind. I will keep hunting for the answer.

When you receive your appointment date you have to register your appointment on the site. Its how they confirm things. Its also where you set up your courier service where the send your passport back to you. My first interview,  this was the process.
