In Seattle too, and I’ve now been waiting 15 months since I filed my AOS petition. Status still says “interview ready to be scheduled.” Seattle is outrageous.

Aww man, so sorry to hear.  Our interview was on 30th January, so we just skated in before Covid.  I keep thinking Seattle will catch up on family-based AOS and citizenship interviews with the local H1B market in decline, but who knows...

Now I dont know if that period is for people that applied the aos form there or is the process time for people who will have the interview in DC.

I am confused too.

Still waiting for my biometrics app

I understand like this is the time to get the interview... and 29 months will be for other cases. Marrying a USC should take 8.5 I guess.

It's the time for the local field office to adjudicate the application. Generally this would be where you interview. Where file from doesn't matter (unless you move and it gets transferred, then it might add a little time).

Your screenshot shows 8.5-29 months. That means 8.5 months is the average (50% of cases adjudicated) timeframe. The 29 months is the 93rd percentile (93% of cases are adjudicated by then).

Pretty much all family-based cases take the same length of time for AOS. Being the spouse of a USC doesn't impact the timeline.

(The longer waits for other family categories are for the PD to become current prior to be able to file AOS).
