I did my chekc on USCIS processing times, in almost a month since the end of May. My GC is being processed in DC. What in the world caused the jump in GC processing?? How did they just go back in time, to December 2017, while a few weeks ago they were working on the cases from August 2018?? :o

26th May

  • Travel document: 6-8 months (current 27th Sept 2019)
  • EAD:  6-8 months (current 27th Sept 2019)
  • Green Card: 12-21.5 months (current 14th Aug 2018)

18th June

  • Travel document: 7-9 months (current 2nd Oct Sept 2019)
  • EAD:  6-8 months (current 20th Oct 2019)
  • Green Card: 8.5 - 30 months (current 29th Dec 2017)

But the front end number dropped on the i485 from 12 to 8.5.  That is the most important thing.   Read how processing times are determined

YMMV

COVID-19 delays, expected furloughs, policy delays? There could be a wide range of issues driving this delay.

I read it and I am probably jsut stupid, because I don't get it. Do you care to elaborate, or did you only mean to point out my ignorance? Thank you.

50% of the cases are now adjudicated in 8.5 months compared  to 12 months.  Considering covid that is a significant and most probably an unexpected improvement

It is taking longer to get to 93% rate but those are typically the more difficult ones or ones that have had RFEs, etc.. which inherently take longer.

YMMV

Processing times are a look back not a look forward, so future looking items like any expected furloughing, normal annual summer slowdown, etc. are not in the numbers

YMMV
