Really?

I thought you had to show you actually lived with this person and had joint bank accounts and stuff like that.

Nope.  In fact what you are thinking about doing is by far the most common situation

YMMV

That is how most people do it.

We met in the Philippines, married in Hong Kong, filed while living together in Mexico and interviewed there.   Tons of options.  He will need a copy of the marriage certificate with an " certified" english translation of it.

Get you ESTA or a visa now before getting married and filing.   You can visit the US but you can not move there until you get the VISA.

so you think there won’t be any problem if he will go back to the states  to live while my visa will get proceeded

No issue - It does work better if he is already in the US and working there come interview time.   He can certainly visit you in the meantime.

Why did you think that?  Perhaps you read some wording on the i-130 instructions that followed the words "In addition to the required..." and thought such things were required.  Or, maybe the person you heard it from did that.  Carry on.  Your plan is perfectly normal.

Hi,

I don’t know why I thought that, I think I have read somewhere that if you don’t live together and he is over sea it will be more difficult to demonstrate the bonafide marriage.
thanks
