what is it in particular that you have questions about? What up? Maybe I can shed some light...

Thanks so much for being willing to help!

1. The status of my pending I-485 switched from "Interview was cancelled" to "we sent duplicate receipts and your case is at our National Benefits Center office". Does this make any sense?

2. If I wanted to send them a letter inquiring about my case being bouncing around, to which office should I direct my letter?

3. And would they respond to my letter even if there is an attorney on file?

Thank you!

Hey guys:

I am trying to determine how delayed my I-485 case is based on everybody's timelines. Here's mine:

03/2017   I-130,I-131,I-765,I-485 filed with Chicago Office

08/2017   divorce filed

01/2018   I-360 filed with Vermont Center

05/2019   I-485 interview taken in Kendall FL Office, case placed on "needs review" (officer said he needed to wait for Vawa approval first)

11/2019   I-360 approved by Vermont Center

05/2020   I-485 case status "interview cancelled"

07/2020   I-485 Online inquiry about case outside processing times

07/2020   I-485 case status changed to "we sent you a duplicate notice, your case is at our NBC".

As you all can see, my I-485 was filed on March 2017 and it's been 9 months since Vawa approval. Anybody else with a similar timeline for the I-485 case?

Thank you!

I have another questions for those who recently filed for I-765 renewal:

My attorney filed a month and a half ago for the renewal of both travel and work permits (i-131 and I-765). The receipt arrived only for the I-131 request. We have not received anything on the I-765.

Has anyone here had the same issue recently?

Thank you

Hi! quick question: how were you able to know that your case was actually transferred to NBC? did that show up as a status on your case?

Hi, my online status indicates transfer and my attorney got notified by mail as well about transfer to NBC

Hello to all. I’m new to this forum and have been reading all the thread in the past. My question is that I see some people have applied vawa in the past like 2018 or 2019 hasn’t received any notice or EAD.  Case processing time for I-765 shows 3.5 month to 6.5month.... which makes me really worried that I’m gonna ended up waiting two year Or more to receive EAD.....

Another question that I had.. after filing VAWA, is it possible to go work in a different country? Or travel at all?

You can travel wherever you want if you have Advanced Parole, but keep in mind that AP doesn't guarantee you entrance back to US. USCIS doesn't care what you gonna do there

They will no answer you, USCIS works with templates. They will answer something if your attorney asks, if you have one,  or if the congressperson asks, but they will not explain /answer you.

You can travel, if you are not im removal proceedings. If you are filing VAWA/AOS you intend to become an immigrant here right? then you should keep your residence in the U.S, not abroad .After receiving the green card if you need to stay outside of the U.S for more than one year then you must file a "reentry permit" .

The USCIS is taking around  6/8 months to issue a work permit.

Hello everyone,

I have updates finally!

Recap: I485 pending. Filed I360 May 2019. Applied for EAD renewal Mar 2019 was given 180 days extension (even though EAD card expired), applied again in Nov 2019 - same thing 180 days extension.

Contacted congresswoman last year - USCIS responded that its not above processing time.

AR-11 filed in Mar 2020, timeline updated. Sent some more evidence with another request for ead renewal, and also requested for another PF since they didn't send a new one in June 2020. Received a new PF for 180 days (dated in June but received exactly a month later. Was addressed to my old house 🥴)

Contacted congresswoman again last week regarding EAD and address update. Days later congresswoman updated that case is currently being adjudicated and I should receive updates soon.

Today I received this notification.

I have been worried sick to my bone!

Reading all your posts has been a blessing and a comforter. Thank you to everyone that shares. Not there yet but getting closer finally
