Dear friends

I have a question that there is a famous form I.e. form I-864 w which most of us had missed to submit when have initially applied for the VAWA or we have submitted the same as an additional form later on since we don’t know that we have to submit this form at the start so my question is that since this form has been abolished what will be the next step Ie so

we have to submit the  form 944 or Every thing will be ok since we don’t need this form as we are VAWA petitioner

VAWA petitioners dont do the 944.  If you were suppose to file the 864W and you never did- you will just have to wait and see if they need you to still fill it out now. I dont believe the form is available anymore on USCIS website so I am assuming their system has a way to handle situations like that. If they want an 864W from you because it was needed at the time you filed they will let you know. Dont worry about it so much. It can cause a lot of anxiety worrying about things that may not happen.

Most attorneys are fear mongers/vendors etc so pay them no mind! Nothing like that will happen! Unhealthy thoughts..fears..worries can mess up people's minds! Focus on positive and fulfilling things instead. I learnt that from counselling. Never underestimate the power of positivity. Besides these are mere speculations..😀always look on the bright side!💖👍

Thank you very much for your support🌸🌸🌸

After me EAD Renewal was sent back to USCIS I feel how my hope get back away AGAIN. But I’m trying to stay positive🙏🏻

Folks as you know every year I have a meetup with some survivors of abuse, last year was in Central Park, NYC. It was great,t but this year due to the Covid19 I will not meet the survivors, but next summer probably I will have the meetup in Texas. I keep postponing Texas, lol but I have a lot of people there that I handled their Vawa petitions.

This year so far I had 63 VAWA cases approved(Visa Journey's members), plus 98 private cases approved. 60% of the cases from Visa journey's members I worked pro bono.

USCIS, as usual, is acting crazy. I have cases filed in May and June 2019 approved, but I have cases filed in  2018 still pending adjudication, then do not be discouraged if you filed your VAWA in 2018.

@sandranj you’re the best. You’re just awesome. Thank god for you.

It’s a good question but I didn’t submit the the form I-864 w with the initial packet but later on I submitted the same in the month of September 2019 and the USCIS  updated in the system under I-485 that the form has been received and they are reviewing the same and if they need any thing they will contact me.

I think now every thing will be ok

Good evening everyone. Once again I turn to the forum for advice/support. I don't have a case question now, more of a how to cope question.

During my abuse and 5 months after we separated I was extremely depressed and couldn't think about anything but the relationship, my torture, cheating, devaluing and my misfortunes. I couldn't even attend a therapist as I was in denial of what happened and didn't think clearly. With some time, my overall health has gotten a little better and I started researching the VAWA petition. It is such a painful process to think the you're stuck with this trauma for at least a couple of years after filing. All I want is to be a normal 24 year old. I see all my girlfriends having exciting lives and dealing with pleasant work/life problems, achieving goals etc. while all my life is revolving around the petition. I don't have any appropriate support and my life seems so dull and pointless as all I do is immigration. It's my birthday on Saturday and I don't feel good about anything in life right now. and afraid that it will always be like that. It is also sad that at this age people supposed to have their best life experiences. I really hope this is not my best experience haha. On top of everything, I also didn't get promoted at my work since I can't really work due to lack of concentration and any motivation.

Has anyone felt the same? How did you find any joy and strength to move on and not give up? I'm so devastated as there is really noting to look forward to.

I am sorry for such a negative message just really need help. (I am reaching out to therapists now as well)

Thanks

Hello. I understand you. I have had a very bad condition for 1 year. I was very scared that I even moved to Russia, although I could stay in America. I had no support from friends, I did not have support from my relatives. (when I was already in Russia) I only had support from my son. People said that I talk too much about the situation that happened ... that I should forget everything! I couldn't forget! only a year later, I felt better! This forum helped me, psychotherapists helped me, other people on the Internet helped me. I tried to seek help and support. And they helped me. I felt much better. Although I know the wound hasn't healed yet. Just writing a letter to the migration service cost a lot of nerves. Yes, time and kind people around will help you!

Nataly I am glad you are feeling better.I remember when you joined the thread.  Time is the best remedy for those who suffered abuse, and a  good support group as well.

You can check here- https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ for the 485 processing times at your local office. You can also search the forums or google to see if anyone has posted info about your local office wait times

Thank you for the follow up answer. My local office’s processing times for i485 says they are by the cases files on August 17 of 2017. My i485 was filed March 2017. Would this help my interview get expedite?

I am afraid that what you mean is that my priority day starts over and instead goes by the date when the case is sent to local office again? OMG

Right?

How he can tell something like this to person who is surviving and trying to get back on the track...heeling?

This is not professional!

Especial when you are applying for VAWA

Its like if I will apply for the medical insurance and and the end agent will tell me “Oh and btw you will anyway die!”

Gosh!

Hope everything will be fine🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

This made me burst out laughing!😸😸😸 the part about dying anyway! LMAO! It's hard to see an attorney that cares genuinely..they're all after their money no matter the approach..very cunning and scheming folks! Their job is to instill fear and worry the perfect recipe to get hired!!! SMH!😏👎

Thank you, Sandra. Does 2018 filing take longer to get approved?
