I was hoping someone can offer some more insight about the psychological examination of a VAWA case.

I'm in the process of filing for it -- collecting evidence and the such -- also waiting for a lawyer that I feel confident in.  My question is, what sort of questions do they ask you regarding the examination?  I can tell you I've been depressed and feeling isolated. I'm able to get back to my home country and see my friends and family. I don't have the ability to work and my debts are starting to pile up

Hello everyone, new to everything here. I am asking the question on behalf of my mother and myself. We are wondering, since my mother has told me that our case was approved. She is wondering if I can apply for FAFSA.

If you are talking about a VAWA Case the answer is yes you can apply for FAFSA

Hello guys. How is everyone? I’ve been silent and MIA for a while trying to work my butt off ever since I got a job. But today, my spirit went rock bottom as I was served annulment papers from my husband. Such a nightmare. When will this be over my God? Guys what should I do now? I can’t imagine being in court fighting with this person.

Why is he serving you an annulment papers? And what is his reason seeking for an annulment.  Are you sure it's not a divorce papers as I don't think an annulment is what you need especially going through vawa

It is an annulment hon. His basis is I did not move to live with him, I did not tell him I have a daughter until after marriage and I didn’t want to start a family with him...lies. Because I packed up my stuff and shipped them to his house via UPS. He knew about my daughter from day one and he eventually bought ticket for both of us to move from CA to AZ. We even talked about having kids after I’m done with school and plans of starting a business. I don’t know what to do now.

Is he the father of your daughter? If he is I don't know why he is seeking an annulment as this will mean the marriage never happened and you can't claim vawa if a marriage is annulled but there may be an exceptional reasons where one can be accepted like for health reasons or minor marriage.  You have to seek a legal advice on this. Hope you work out things with him

Do you have proof like plane ticket receipts? Text messages talking about moving or ups receipt when you shipped your stuff. Sometimes these are stuff you can get if you really try hard to get copies. Do not sign any documents annulling your marriage because your vawa will not be valid if you do. Please see legal advice.

Do you know if I can retrieve Old text messages through my phone carrier because I changed my phone and no longer have his old text messages. I should be able to find the ups receipt and tickets but I need to prove also that he knew about my daughter before marriage right? Though he actually met her after we both moved in with him
