I want to thank all members who've been advising and motivating everyone in this group especially @Stillwinning!!!😊 and others. Its been a tough journey with ups and down, but do not loose faith. We will all get through this. My timeline is based Houston local office. All waiting is green card to be mailed.

This is awesome news!  Congrats

Is this an average timeline for VAWA?  Through the anecdotal search I've seen, it can take upwards of two years.

I was wondering if someone could offer any insight about my current situation

I have my I-130/I-485 spouse visa (I believe it is a IR-1, since we have been married for over two years when the paperwork has been submitted).  Though I want to apply for VAWA and get out this situation that I'm in.  If I apply for VAWA, what happens to my current AoS?  Can I get my EAD/AP for through my spousal visa and start working while my VAWA case is pending?

If you are sure you are ready to go this route.. Gather your documents/evidence file the i360, be sure to advice USCIS of the development..ask them to hold the i485 pending when your VAWA is adjudicated. As long as your i485 is on hold, you are able to work with the C9 EAD under the i485 petition. 👍

Its not an average time. Its based on the discretion of the case worker.
