@dreamer1This may be the reason why you haven't received the physical card yet. Last friday i received notification that my card was ordered. Waiting to see how long before it is mailed.

Oh wow... good to know! Thanks a lot.
I was wondering what was up as last year I got the card within the week the status updated and the notice in just a couple of days.

Hey!
mine is C9- based on pending I 485

good luck with the inquiry, you can also approach your congressman. I did both, at same time

Good idea, I'll do that tomorrow. What state are you in and how long did it take after submitting an inquiry with your Congressman?

 I am in NJ

The the EAD renewal receipt #, once inquired about, took like 2 weeks tops... June 15 I started my inquiry and June 16 congressman's office reached out to USCIS, I got the approved message on 7/2

I want to add, about 20 -26  days before this, as soon as my case went out of processing time,  I had started another inquiry but the reply from USCIS never got to me because they spelled gmail wrong 😑  When I saw online that "we sent you a message in reply to your recent inquiry" and I had not received anything, I called them on the number displayed and the USCIS representative was very helpful. she was trying to get some information for me but told me "it's strange, the system is not letting me access your full info". It was only after we hung up I remembered that was due to VAWA 😄

Oh wow that was pretty fast, I've done one Congressional Inquiry for VAWA and it took them 3 months to get me thr approval notice lol.

Hopefully for EAD it's much faster.

USCIS can be a mess at times and it's pretty annoying lol. I'm glad you were approved though. 🥳

Evening everyone!

I've been talking to a few lawyers, and they said I can file for VAWA, but they really didn't offer much more information as to what I should gather.  They want me to pay the retainer first, which I understand. However, in the mean time I want to start collecting evidence. I was wondering what I should gather

Right now I have the following:

- Text messages from my partner saying the relationship is over. Him saying he is was going to block me

- Transcripts (which are form videos) from our "fights". Blaming me for mental abuse, physical abuse and him also commenting how I was the root of all his problems

- I can possibly get something from my therapist who I've been talking to for the last year about this

- My husband has had the cops called on him for domestic abuse with someone living with us.  However, the abuse wasn't targeted towards me.  I did give a statement though.

- I can possibly get affidavits from friends as well

I don't have any photos of the injury he caused when he slapped me upside the head. I really don't know what else I can file.

If you don't have a police report of the abuse you suffered then you MUST attend therapy,5/7 sessions, and have a psychological evaluation done. Getting a simple letter from the therapist will not work, you must have a GREAT psychological evaluation stating the abuse in detail, plus tests performed, number of sessions, onset of the problems, diagnose and referral.

Okay, thank you for letting me know about this!

Just an update: I resent my AP application after it was rejected for not having the fee. I resent it without the fee and it was delivered June 23rd, 2020. Just yesterday (07/13), I received a text message stating that my case was received with the receipt number. Upon checking the case status online, it states that as at 07/13, fingerprints have been applied to my case. The last time I did fingerprints with USCIS was in December 2016. Also, looks like my application was transferred to Texas. Thank you all for your input on my application.

Friends - my C9 EAD expires in January and I did my 180 days calculation and can submit a request this month. Can I ship the paperwork for new EAD / AP before the date I signed it (which is 180 days before expiration) or I should mail it same date that a signature date is?

thank you

I was asked to submit updated medicals, I693, which I sent last week and they received it already. Does anyone know how long USCIS takes to adjudicate I485 after receiving medical, I already had my interview in Nov 2018

You had an interview before filing VAWA? Was your 485 placed on hold?

Do not mail it any sooner than 180 days. I sent mine on day 181 just to be safe.

I think you should send it on the signed date (this applies to every documentation)

My lawyer just called to let me know he has received my advanced parole card. Again, it was received by USCIS on June 23rd and issued July 5th but my lawyer received it today. I am surprised at how fast it came. I didn't even get a paper receipt yet.
