They also said that due to covid 19, it may take longer than excepted to receive my file in Dallas. However, 17 days later, I got an update on my case and it was a request for additional evidence from my dallas field office. 2 days after the update, I received the request for evidence in the mail and it was requests for immigration medicals. I quickly did the medicals and sent back to immigration and one week later, status updated to "new card being produced"

Thank you for sharing. How interesting how USCIS work quickly when they want to. Good for you and for your follow-ups. Enjoy your new journey and celebrate accordingly 🥳🎉

Thank you. And yes, USCIS can be very efficient and swift if they want to be. I wish you the best in this struggle. We are still in it together. I am just a step ahead of you. The amount of support that I have received from here both emotionally and legally is priceless. Together we will always stand stronger. I wish you all the best in the struggle. And I will continue to pray for us all as we continue this journey

Hi all, got one question..

Do we usually get to see the update "your case is ready to be scheduled for interview" for I-485 , or can it come as a surprise and they schedule you a date like a month in advance without getting that update?

If you filled G-1145 e-notification form along with your case, then you will get the updates most of the times via text and or email when there is an update to your case. Sometimes, if a lazy officer is working on your case, then he/she may not put up the updates otherwise, you will get the updates most of the time.  If you didn't file the G-1145 form, you will still have updates on your case but you will not be notified by emails and text message immediately there is an update on your case. So the bottom line is that the updates are dependent on the officer working on your case. Most of the times, there will be an updates, on a few cases that I have come across, there was not update, an interview letter just showed up in the mail without any case update

@sandranj  please I need your advice to proceed further.

Ask the field office to ship your file to Vermont, and inform VSC that you have a pending I-485 as well, submit a copy of the I-485 receipt.

Hey guys

My attorney and I are shocked. My LPR abuser just got his US Citizenship today with a felony E (for stolen property) for this crime he was sentence to 12 month in jail he only serve 9 months all this on his record, my I-360 Vawa approved on record, 2 order of protection from me and his current girlfriend on record, Domestic Violence allegation on court from both of us on record. USCIS immigration system sometimes just surprises. My question is can this benefit me on my I-485 or long run US Citizenship do I need to request a change on my approval category from a Battered Spouse of an LPR to USC Battered Spouse? Anyone know?? Thanks

My I-360 was approved last January filed back in February 2018.. no I didn’t get transfer notice.

Dear friends I am applying for the work authorization renewal under c31 category after VAWA approval

need some points to be clear ie

1) The renewal category mentioned will be c31.

2) the renewal fees is 410 dollars and the certified check should be in the name of department of home land security.

1. Yes (c)(31)( ).

2. US Department of Homeland Security

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

You should definitely let them know but you don't really stand to gain anything out of it these days. F2A is current meaning there's no backlog so realistically the only difference for you is what it'll say on the category code for your green card (IB6 vs B26).

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

Hey..before you get confirmation from Sandra, have you tried to enquire through your reps the status of your i485 like I adviced earlier? USCIS can be messy all by themselves..you don't need to help them..I really want to ask you to relax but I also want you to be on top of things...just incase!💁

I'l do. thanks

Relax, approval notice will always say one of three things:

We will notify you separately for your AOS application
You said you will apply for AOS, you can get I-485 from a local office

You said you will do consular and we'll forward your case to NVC

Since you're reusing a previously filed I-485 it's possible that's why VSC doesn't have a record of it and didn't give you a notice that they give to concurrent filings. Don't worry, your I-485 is still pending (unless it outright says it was denied) and you can keep renewing the C9 EAD.

Thanks for your detailed reply.

What a positive thought, please stay in this forum as long as possible. In my view, to help victims is more or less a form of charity.
