Ugh a stressful point,  I was devastated but I overcame.  I submitted RFE.

 

RFE sumbitted

 

VAWA Approved March 2020

 

Received new EAD C31 March 2020

 

Received I 485 receipt notice case transferred March 2020

No, this is all one case, it just goes to three different places. You only pay the fee for it once to USCIS and once judge approves your I-485, either the court or you need to let USCIS know, which will then issue you a green card.

I Received this RFE for a computer generated birth paper. Is anybody in the group from Trinidad and had this RFE in this pandemic time how you went about getting it and how long did it take for you to receive it?

It passed almost 3 weeks since then and still nothing about case. I got the card last week.

They are mailing cards after couple of days these days because of low staff.. they will mail it soon once it is ready

RFE regarding birth certificate for i485 is very common. I received one too.. You need to follow up either with your consulate or your family from your home country can request it for you

Yes I had a problem with the consulate where I renewed my passport in January and I still did not get it back yet that's why  am a bit worried.

good morning all, I have a question, after vawa approval notice is received, where do i send my i485 application? Vermont? was speaking to my  attorney assistant who does the filing he said he will send it to NBC. Told him I am not sure that is correct. @Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj and any other person that can help me answer this. I will greatly appreciate it.

secondly will the money order for the fee be separated? 1-$1000 and the balance on a separate money order? I have never done it before so pardon my ignorance Thank you and I do hope you all have a great day

Yes you will send I-485/I-765/I-131 to VSC.

 

Unless you're in removal proceedings and will be filing I-485 with the court, then the procedure is different. You send a copy of the form and filing fee to a special lockbox in Mesquite, TX (do not include anything else, just form and check). They'll issue you a receipt notice and you will submit the complete I-485 packet w/ the receipt to the judge and serve a copy upon ICE office of chief counsel. Afterwards if you want an EAD or/and AP you will send those to Chicago Lockbox with evidence that you filed I-485 with court.

 

Regarding the money orders/checks as long as they add up to the full amount it's fine. So you can do one for $1000 and second for $225.

Mazi hi, don't let your attorney send it to NBC..that's what my attorney did in my i765 case and it caused a significant delay! All petitions as a VAWA petitioner should go to VSC..I'm sure I've told you this before..Sandra also has. Also your money just has to be complete for the transaction to go through.👍

You would need someone from your country as previously discussed to make valuable contribution that you can actually work with..there has to be a way it works out in your country. Hopefully someone from your country makes an input.👍

yeah I  remember i saw a comment about yours on someone's response but the way he kept arguing , i had to hold on , get clarity  from here before moving on. i will just put my foot on the ground and insist it has to be Vermont. Thank you son much  @Stillwinning!!!😊 grateful

No. you need to send it to Vermont. They will transfer it to NBC.
