Take a deep breath and relax. Write a letter to the field office that you have filed I-360 for VAWA. If you have received a receipt notice or at very least a text or email confirmation include it. If you don't, still send them the letter, explain that you filed for VAWA and they should hold your I-485 and you will send them copy of the receipt notice as soon as you get it. They will generally give you 30 days to submit evidence that you filed VAWA.

Send it without the notice then and send another one with notice once you get it.

I have a question for you all, please. So i concurently filed for i485 and i360 since sept 2018 and i also received a EAD card 4 months later. In may 2020 I received an RFE which i responded to. They received it on july 1st. Now i checked my i360 receipt number online amd it says that "new card receipt number EAC.... is being produced". I am confused as to what that can be,since i already have a EAD card and it was even renewed in march of this year. The category of the card that i have is c9.

Do you have any idea why they are sending me a new card knowing that i havent even been approved yet?

And @sandranj your inbox is full.

Thank you

Okay what this means is that your I-360 was approved. There is a box on the form where basically you request USCIS to issue you an EAD (category C31) upon I-360's approval, you or your lawyer probably ticked it.

hi everyone

somebody was asking couple of pages ago if it ever happens for USCIS to mail something to the wrong address, so I am very unlucky person who had to experience this TWICE.

My lawyers changed their address twice in the last year, and now this all mess I have to go through, because of USCIS not able to correctly update the address under my case.

Couple of weeks ago I received the update about my i360 Approved, and I was so happy, but unfortunately, it was too soon to be celebrating. 3 days ago the status changed again for "The notice was returned to USCIS because usps couldn't deliver it, and this may have a significant effect on your case". Now I am all freaking out, and my lawyer doesn't answer my emails!

I want to ask here, what can possibly be the effect on my case if they can't deliver the notice? that sentence got me like a panic attack! Can they revoke a decision?

and another question: is there any way to call somewhere or send an email to USCIS to make sure they do update that mailing address? I don't mind to go there, or call there, whatever, since my lawyer doesn't reply me.

No, they won't revoke it. If this is I-360 approval then you want to write a letter, fill out AR-11, and sent it to VSC.

That's not true. I was also in removal proceeding in Dallas, Texas. After my VAWA approval, my attorney filed to terminate my hearing at Immigration court. First it was rejected and I was informed that I will have to attend the court hearing( this was in February 2020). Then in March, we received a notice that my removal proceeding was terminated. My attorney said this was most probably becuase of COVID19. They are trying to limit the number of ppl they have to see in person.

So I would highly recommend you to file for termination of your proceeding and file for your I-485 with USCIS then to file for it with Immigration Judge.

Good luck! your approval for VAWA is coming soon. 😇

I’m in same situation as you were. I have question that how Long this court process take to terminate the removal proceeding . And how much was lawyer charge? Please help
