Hello everyone I am in a dilemma. I posted here 2 weeks ago that I received an RFE for police clearance. Since day 1 I coordinated with someone from my home country to procure a police clearance for me. The problem is due to the pandemic the volume of applications are too much that they are blocked off until August. My deadline is August 24 and counting the timeline I am afraid I will not be able to comply on time. Has anyone tried writing USCIS asking for extension?

Hi, just to set your mind to rest..I believe USCIS extended response time due to the pandemic. You can look it up too so don't take my word for it but here's what I found..

On March 27, 2020, USCIS announced that it will allow an extra sixty (60) days for timely responses to all Requests for Evidence (“RFE”) or Notices of Intent to Deny (“NOID”) dated between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020.

Did you mail it to Vermont Service Center?

No, it was mailed to Chicago service center. That's what the USCIS website says to mail to if you are filing based on an approved VAWA. If you file concurrently with i-360 then you send it to Vermont.

Also NOA receipt can be anywhere from 2weeks and up. I always used to get my NOAs really early but I've also read about folks waiting for even 6/7 and 8weeks! This is to set your mind at ease..so you know it's not that unusual.😊👍

Awesome, thanks for the info as always!😀 What should I do if I still don't recieve it after weeks 8?

Hi VJF, hope everyone and our families are safe. Wishing us all God's divine goodness, mercy and protection through all dis hard and pandemic period. Please is anyone living in Texas....can I apply for my Driving license with my Prima fascie and SSN ?Am a july 2019 filer. I had my old D.L which had expired. Thanks for your input.

DPS does not consider PF for drivers license unfortunately. You need to visit dps office, they will perform 2nd verification on your status and you will get an update within 2 weeks. Most of the time, license gets approved based on 2nd verification

Hello guys, how long does it take to hear back from the congressman inquiry. I emailed them yesterday and did not get a email. Is it good to email or call them? here is the link which i followed based on my zip code:

https://woodall.house.gov/contact/email

In my email (which was short) i described that i needed help with an immigration matter, i entered my first and last name and my contact info. Or, should i have emailed them with full details? sorry this is my first time contacting them for help. My vawa case is pending since june 2017.

thanks,

You need to fill privacy declared form and submit it to your congressman along with uscis receipts which you want to inquire. Usually congressman responds with an answer after 3 to 4 weeks.

Additionally, you can use senator as well

Did they specifically asked for home country police report? If yes, then you have to submit it.. keep trying you will get it.. ask your friends/family to arrange a report for you

I believe the representative will have to get back to him first based on his outreach before they send him the privacy release form which he'll fill out and send back to them..no?

It had to submit to Vermont. That’s why you didn’t receive receipts because chicago needs to transfer it to Vermont.

I guess so. For mine I had to get in touch with them then they sent me the privacy release form which I filled out alongside a copy of my i360 and i485 and sent out to them.👍
