I'm not 100% sure if they are seeing people for infopass due to the pandemic..but incase they have resumed these are steps..👍

  1. Call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283.
  2. Get through their automated system to talk to a tier 1 agent.
  3. Demand a tier 2 agent and convince them to schedule an appointment.
  4. An agent will call you back within a 48 hour window to schedule an appointment. They will only make 2 attempts to reach you.

Got it, I will call them in the morning. Thank you.

Hey guys,
If anyone knows how to help with getting visitor visas for parents please reply to me here (just started a topic)...
Will appreciate a lot if anyone has a deep knowledge!

How old are your parents?  When is the last time they applied?  If there situation for ties has not changed, it will be the same decision.  So the ties to home are tough to overcome.  Also during this Covid time, and travelers being stuck in the US is a factor as well.

My case is only I-360. I didn’t apply for I-485 yet. So, after 75 days since I mailed back RFE, I got 3 days ago message “New card is being produced”.
Does somebody knows what is that mean?
I didn’t apply for any card recently, only I-360.
I am so anxiuos what is going on.

Congratulations 🎈🎊🎉 your VAWA has been approved! That card is C31 work permit issued when VAWA petition has been approved.
The most difficult part is over! Now apply for i-485 and get that GC!
what’s s your timeline?

On I-360: Page 14, Part 10, Question 12: "I am currently residing in the United States and I request an Employment Authorization Document.". If you answered yes to it, USCIS will immediately issue you an EAD (category C31) upon approval. So the message is really good, it means that your I-360 was approved.

Also, what's your timeline. I think I sent my RFE reply around the same time you did.

Yes, they cannot issue the card without approval. It might go from "Card is being produced" to "Case was approved" to "Card was picked up by USPS" to "Card was delivered".

I-485 processing time right now is around 12-18 months. However, on the bright side, you now have an EAD, and as a part of the I-485 application you can get another one and advance parole (a permission to travel abroad) while the I-485 is pending. So you can work legally, get a driver's license, get a social security number, travel out of US (once the AP is approved), etc, etc. You are 95% out of the woods now.

What is mean C31? Is it valid for 1 year or more? Is it advance parole or not?

C31 is category for people with approved VAWA petition. It's 1 year (renewable indefinitely, automatically extended for 180 days when you file for renewal). No advance parole. First one is free but renewals they'll charge you for.

You will most likely file I-765 (category C9) and I-131 as a part of your adjustment application. That one is free (initial and renewal, as long as your I-485 is filed before October 2, 2020 since they're changing the fees).1 year, renewable as long as I-485 is pending, filing for renewal extends it by 180 days, does have advance parole if you filed I-131.

Since C9 is generally a better deal than C31 due to free renewals and AP, most people either not file for a C31 and only file for C9, or end up abandoning the C31 in favor of C9.

Also, I can see that the RFE was issued in March, but when did you send in your response to it and when did they get it.

Thank you very much Demise, very nice and fully explanation.

Do you know also, for example after you get GC in 18 months it is valid for 10 years, right?

And how long you need to wait to apply for passport later? Just curious.

Thank you

Yes you get a 10 year green card via VAWA. You can file for naturalization after 3 years minus 90 days from the day your I-485 is approved. Once you naturalize you can get a US Passport.

I suggest you read this thread part 19 from the beginning. All your questions have been asked and answered already.
Also, sleep peacefully knowing that your VAWA has finally been approved. I fee the same happiness I felt for myself for everyone that gets approved.
