Because of the current situation, all SSN offices are closed but services are available through phone. I spoke to an employee and was informed that I can send the SSN application through mail however must include my wife’s Japanese passport. The actual physical passport....I am very hesitant about it. 
What is everyone else doing in regards to SSN? 
I would really appreciate feedbacks and tips from everyone :)

I wouldn't do it. It's risky. Wait for the offices to reopen or apply with AOS.

I saw a case of a person who sent the passport through mail to get SSN, then they couldn't get married because they needed the passport and they were nearly reaching the 90 days..Idk what happened though!

I agree that it's too risky.
