RFE Received - Birth Certificate

Has any applicant from Pakistan received an RFE requesting a birth certificate? What did you submit?

We just received an RFE to submit a copy of the birth certificate or other primary birth record issued by the appropriate civil authority for the applicant. Unsure if we should submit the same birth certificate that we submitted with the AOS application again? Or should we be trying to obtain another official copy from the Pakistan Consulate? The one we submitted mentions the city not the country, not sure if that makes a difference?

Thanks!

Scroll down to appropriate category and click.  Read if what they are looking for is what you sent

You need to send what they consider a proper birth certificate. You can check on the reciprocity page from USCIS to see where to get it.

I sent the birth certificate with the package and they requested the birth certificate from me again as well. I just sent the same one again as it satisfies the criteria they mention. I got mine from union council with stamp and all the necessary details.

Some people have mentioned that USCIS can ask for same documents again. Reason is unknown 😁

Thanks, the birth certificate my husband has is from KMC (Karachi Municipality Corporation), which shouldn't make a difference since page reference earlier says it's acceptable as long as it's before 2001, so we are trying to email the embassy to be sure to not end up with a denial if something has changed regarding the birth certificate requirements.

Yes, it turns out we sent an illegible copy (i.e., some portions got cut off) when looking copies submitted. We went ahead and submitted same thing, but a clear color copy (both sides), and it worked. My husband received his combo/card, and we are awaiting interview date.
