Jenn - what is an actuarial exam?

Doodle - What are you in pain from?

Abdounjen - Where are you leaving from?

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and now they also think I have Lupus because my ana levels were not normal. I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing it though and to be honest my physical pain is far from the emotional pain that most of you are going through. (F)

Doodle - I have a friend that has RA and it can really knock her out for the count sometimes. I know she's had to take Predinsone (sp?) for months at a time. She's fortunately in a "remission" of sorts right now from it. Physical pain can be emotionally exhausting as well. I know that has to be tough. I think we all take our health for granted until we are struck with something that reminds us how precious it is.

Keep your head up!!!!

thanks. Yeah I do the prednisone thing but I"m being vain this month 'cause I see my hubby next month and I don't want all that weight gain for when I'm there. My doctor wants me on plaquinel and is going to talk to me about it Tuesday but I need to ask for more info 'cause I do want to be pregnant in a year or so and I don't think it's ok to be on that while pregnant. If it is though, I'll go on it asap since a few of my friends here who have RA say it totally goes into remission and there are very few side effects, unlike the prednisone which eats at your bones.

Thanks though and you are such a strong lady!!!! Granted my ex was never around when I had my kids so I basically raised them by myself but still, that was his choice. I can't even imagine doing it alone while my husband is still in Egypt. Kids are funny though, they give you superpowers when you need them the most. I'm normally pretty meek in the real world but when it comes to my kids I become supermom to the rescue. Even while going through my divorce when my kids were both still in diapers, I never once shed a tear in front of them.Always waited for when I'd put them to bed and then I'd collapse into a helpless pool of mush for the rest of the night. God I don't miss those days!

You are so right about the power that your kids bring you. It's a beautiful boy that has kept both of us going. I have no other choice but to be strong for him and take care of him. I send alot of pictures and videos to my husband so that he can still feel apart of us.

My father passed away suddenly this past fall from cancer and that almost took me under though. Again, it was just the fact that I had to get up everyday and take care of my son that kept me going through the hardest times. My husband and father were very close and my father couldn't wait to get Hicham (my hubbie) back home. It was very hard for Hicham to not be here to say goodbye to my father. They got to talk on the phone a couple of days though before he died. My dad had liver cancer. His biospy was on the 10th of October, got the results on the 16th and he died on the 23rd. I had already planned to visit Hicham in Morocco the last couple of weeks in November because he had not seen our son yet. I thought I was going to have to cancel the trip, but my dad made me promise that I wouldn't. It was the best thing that I didn't. I'm very close to my husband's family as well and they just took me in their arms when I got there and just gave me alot of comfort. It was a very bittersweet trip.

So, how have you dealt with being apart?

I block out the pain. I'm good at that. lol. I just don't think about it but of course I call him about twice/day and we talk a few times/week via the webcam which keeps us going. Sometimes it hits me though and I breakdown but that hasn't happened in a while so I must be getting used to it.

I know after I see him though I"ll be a mess for a good week or two. I just keep focusing on everything that needs to be done at this point and that pretty much takes my mind off of it.

We talk on Skype once a week and send several emails. I've got two voicemails that I have saved on my phone for over a year. I play them sometimes for our son so he can get used to hearing his daddy.

It's good to keep yourself busy.

way to go? lol

I replied to the wrong message

That really sucks having to make a move like that. I had to move into a new place when I was 4 months preg. w/o my hubby here. I thought I would never make it through.

Sorry that you are having to go through all of this. Just losing a job in itself is a real kick in the pants. :(

YAY! Hey guys, I passed my exam!
